Description
Full Screen Please!Man this thing took a while to finish. I was liking some of the Halo 3 armor and felt I haven't worked on a good armor suit in quite a while so here's my latest sci-fi epic. There is definitely a story going on here but I think you can probably figure it out. There's a few details that clue you in on whats going on so make sure you get a good look. Its loosely Halo inspired but its up to you if you want to place this scene in the Halo Universe.
Time taken: entirely too long, I lost track. Probably over 25 hrs.
Software: DAZ Studio, Photoshop
Reference: none other than my 3D model.
Edit: I did a major edit on the corridor going for a rusty, gritty darker look. Comments are certainly welcome.

Sniper rifles are always fun but I'm more of an assaulter myself.

If by lancer man you mean "dude with a chainsaw gun" then yes.

I think it would be nice to have some textures instead of everything having the same shiny surface. I realize (vaguely, since I've seen about 5 minutes of my brother playing Halo) that Halo is pretty shiny but man, I think the gun and corridor would look much better if they were a bit beat up.
She looks kind of dark and serious, I think you could play that up with the lighting. I know it's my esthetic but if the value range was more dark with a small amount of midtones and then just a few spots of bright highlights I think the pic would be improved. Even if you darkened the corridor down in the foreground to allow the woman to be the brightest element I think it would work better.
Anyway, what do you think of the print process on DeviantArt? I've been considering paying my 25 bucks to pick it up but I want some opinions first.

Sven, I'll really take your comments to heart. After all the comments, I'll go back and work on adding some detail and tweaking things.
As for the prints, I don't have a print account but I've never sold a print. Prints are pretty expensive on here and most people are more likely to commission you then buy a print.
I guess I'm just not that popular. You might have more luck though.

Wow brilliant work here! What sort of creature did that blood come from? Well whatever it was i'm sure that gun knocked it out of the park (metaphorically speaking).

Its some type of alien, I'll leave it up to your imagination. I think I overdid it with the blood though, I'm going to tone it down this week. Thanks for the comment.

Nice concept and execution! I love the space station and the armor and the coloring on the armor are amazing (although I never understood why female warriors would battle with their boobs popping out, it's so impractical )!

Uhh.. the shots will bounce off?
I'm kidding, I did it just for kicks. Thank you very much for the comments and for taking a look at my art.

Haha, yeah, it's very possible for female body armor.
And not a problem!

I really like how you did the planet and space outside of the windows. This really stands out for me and gives the piece a lot of depth. IMHO, I think the slime could use a bit more shading or shadow. Right now, it looks as if it were floating.
Great job on the figure and I love the the gun.

Thanks for the great comments. I'm pretty sure I'm going to rework the green blood, I need to tone it down a bit. Do you think this is worthy of selling at a convention?

Yes, I would say it's worthy of selling at a convention. It's a good illustration that has a lot of nice elements to it. Plus, it got cleavage in it.. that seems to sell itself.

Awesome, well I'll see if I can rework the slime/blood a bit and maybe I can make a decent print version of it.
Any chance of you going to Otakon this year?
