(done in my sketch pad, inked and detailed in open canvas 4+, base colors and effects all applied in adobe photoshop 7.0)

Hmm..wow...
the colors are so bright I didn't really see the character in the middle. It's so busy too. I think you could have done the same effect to a lesser degree to not make it so "shocking" so to speak. I enjoy the character more than the setting, and the character is lost! It's a real pitty.
