Your shading is good. You used a colour instead of grey, that is already awesome, and you aded veins, which i love.
Now the next step in my book would be thinking about what situation you are expressing. The Light seems to come from everywhere at once, so yes, you can get away with using only minimal shading here. The thing is, i cannot critizise much (and be helpful in any way), because you didn't give us much to critizise.
So let me go into theory:
You drew a wendigo, which is the incarnation of evil I am told. So, is your creature swallowed up by the shadow on the right side? Is the Shadow coming from within or out, is it lurking somewhere, or just suspended in space. Would it benefit from a more textured sourrounding? Creepy ornaments?
If the shadow is from within, it might benefit from a clear point of origin, and a less symmetrical concept. Try spirals. Sneaky streaks of darkness that latch out, and seem to eat away at the light (make all shadows you draw FACE the dark).
If it's lurking, show us mORE shadow. Darker background, or continue the line across the creature to the BG. Vary the amount of shadow, more to the right side, less to the left.
And really, -expreiment. There is no need to be shy with colours, or shading. Yes, you can do more wrong with bold shadowing, but as everywhere, practise is all. It pays.

the character is the beast from over the garden wall. its not specified what he is exactly but many people assume he's a wendigo. he's usually shown as just a shadow with glowing white eyes. in the final episode his true form is shown once the light hits him. so i just wanted to show off but sides of him.
i just wanted a critique on my shading to see if the values made sense.

A critique is more than answering a yes/no question. I'm sorry if this is not what you wanted.
