As we continue into the summer, we enter another month that’s important for many. We enter Pride Month. I am going to come forward with this right now: I am not as directly impacted by the importance of these next 30 days as those who might read this may be. But all the same, I need to do my part in disclosing just how much this month should mean to ALL of us. It’s been quite the worldwide discovery, hasn’t it? The acceptance of other norms besides man and woman. Honestly, I was a bit perplexed myself when I first heard of the idea of two men being romantically together. I was also a bit taken aback when I heard of people who aren’t defined by what they look like, or at least they wish to not hold this definition. But… if there’s anything that I’ve learned from these fwends of mine plus others like my fwend who contributes to this page, it’s that we are all people here. It cannot be said enough, clearly. People still face verbal and physical attacks because they want to have an identity that some parts of the world will not allow. We cannot let this hatred continue to divide us like this. We all have feelings, thoughts, and opinions. We’re capable of being brothers and sisters worldwide. We just don’t believe in that notion enough. We have to learn to celebrate the reason we are who we are. Love… not hate. This is a fight that might be large in scope, but possible to win. Just believe us when we say that Pride is worth having pride in, and no matter how you identify, whether as bisexual, queer, or any more of the terms, that you matter and are wuved. That’s a promise.
