Description
Follow me on Facebook: [link]This is the start of a two part tutorial. This part covers off observations you need to make before you really start tackling realism.
Please keep in mind going into this, I'm putting this together because I've been asked repeatedly. I am no expert on realism, I like semi realism but if I could draw photo realistic images, I'd tooooootally be doing that.
The second part is all about putting pencil to paper and actually drawing it. I've completed the drawing itself, taken photos of the process and now just have to put it together.

I really need to finish enough of a sketch to actually put up on deviantart. It's nice to know that I'm not the first to fuse anime and realistic. Especially when I'm not working off of a real person. To be honest I thing guys suck, I can't draw them yet. If you don't mind, I will start with your drawings to practise. There amazing, artists never see how good they actually are.

Aww, thanks so much, and yeah, go nuts.
I started by drawing women, but I enjoy drawing men more, so I made the transition. It took a while, but I'm finally getting in the swing of it.Β

Thank. You. I always mess up realistic faces. Objects and animals and bodies are usually looking quite right, but when you have to draw a face it's sooo precise. But I'll practice a lot

realism is sooooo hard _
I'll never be able to get there, though that's like one of my deepest darkest desires
thank you for this

My pleasure, and have faith in yourself, it just takes a lot of practise. If you truly want to, take an art class that specifically teaches realism. You'll get there, just don't ever allow yourself to be confined to boundaries, especially ones you set on yourself. That is the most dangerous thing you can do.

I'm happy if people find it helpful! That's what matters to me. That and not looking like an idiot while I'm telling people how to do things. Also, very important.
