Description
EDIT: it is worth noting that these do exist as actual coasters! You can go here to buy them: [link]Final project for my licensing class- I designed subversive 18th century toile! Good times. The final collection included various party goods (coasters, cups, plates, napkins, invitations, etc.), but the tile designs showcase the characters and border designs most clearly.
Many thanks to my sister and her friends for their generous input- I never would have looked into period-accurate wine glasses without your encouragement.

puhahahaha this is really comical. It really reminds me of those old victorian cartoons that poked fun at local and political issues in the newspapers.

This actually reminds me of these comical pictures I saw in New York. People in the 18th century use to make fun of women's fashions and would, for example, increase the size of the bustle to be half the size of her body or sleeves that were so large that if the wind blew they would carry the woman off.

So Awesome!!!! I'm loving it as continuous toile like the background on your shop - any chance it will be available as fabric someday? Like on Spoonflower...?

Haha The situations all seem very interesting! The design of the edges are very nice, too. For some reason I like the feet the most? (Pointy, pointy shoes!) XD

Is there any chance you were planning to make this set into prints? I would die for a set of these...they're amazing!!! My favorite is the green one with the woman standing amusedly with two pairs of man legs disappearing under the dress...these drawings are so clever and inspiring. I'd love to own a set of these *hopes you might be considering selling a print set of this*

If you'd like prints I can arrange prints! I plan on organizing the whole Perdita thing and having a store set up soonish, but I'm also more than happy to print of a set on demand.

I love the guy in the last panel's expression. He's all "Whut?"
Have you watched the HBO special of John Adams? They had the most beautiful French fashion costumes that remind me of these.
