Description
I finished a part of a commission today, so I quickly wanted to get this out.In Pierce's world they have these giant birds. They are the only other giant flying creature to live there. All the other birds are smaller than the average human.
Like our vultures they are scavengers, but they are ALSO hunters. They'll eat anything made out of meat. Doesn't matter what it is.
Pierce doesn't see these things at all until he leaves Ely with Rose and goes south.
Males have the red patch of hanging skin, while females don't. With that, they are a little based off of turkeys, including the hanging clump of feathers. People can call this a type of turkey vulture if they wanted to. ahaha.
Pierce and Iris get into trouble with one of these, too. >3> I keep thinkin about it, so had to design the biiiird.
I am happy with how this bird turned out. xD yeee.

If this bird here tops somewhere around 8' then it's wing span would have to be somewhere around the ballpark of 10' to 15'. 20' maximum!

Well, Pierce is 6'4" and his wingspan is a little over 18 feet. aha
The black vulture, which is listed as the largest predatory bird, is 3Β ft 11Β in at most, and has a wingspan of up to 10 feet or so, so my vulture could have a wingspan easily over 20 feet I'm sure.

Ah I was almost close. And now that I know that I could see how big the vulture would be if it were real. It's size and wingspan would top that of the largest Condors(about 4' tall and a wingspan of 10') here in the US. But I have a feeling that the Black Vulture and the Condor would probably very close in size.

The wingspan is closer to 18' which is a bit short for a bird this large.

It is? Well all I did was do the math in my head and rounded to the nearest number that best fit.Β

I did the same as well, though with notes and a calculator. The wingspan was closer to 19' than 18' but I rounded down.
The largest condors are about 4' tall and have a wingspan of 10'.Β This bird is over twice their size (8' 4").Β And the wingspan would actually be larger than twice the size because of physics.Β But I won't go there cause it's nasty.
I think about this stuff way too much.

I would love to see a rambunctious teenage Hunter tackle the shit out of a younger one to try to ride it and Pierce just being there like "gOD DAMN IT HUNTER I HAVE HALF THE NERVE TO LET IT EAT YOU" XD
