This is just a little something to express my genuine feelings toward those going through the many devastations that have been occurring recently. I have so very very much to be thankful for. I lead a pretty great life. I have a great home with a great family and I get to enjoy many luxuries. Others aren't nearly as lucky as I. Particularly with the natural disasters in Haiti, Japan, and now the southeastern United States, many have lost so much, including homes and even loved ones. Just a few miles away from my home is a reminder of that.

If you haven't experienced what's going on I don't expect you to sit there and try to feel sad just because there are people right now who are suffering when you've no reason; I understand well enough life goes on around the world. If you enjoy this picture just for the artistic aspect, then I do greatly appreciate it. In the end, of course, this isn't some kind of cool print or some picture for dA groups or anything like that. This is something I sat and drew and colored, the whole time with just the recent events in mind, an expression of my sentiments for the victims. I was extremely blessed not to have suffered at all during the recent tornado disasters, but it still makes me sad thinking about all those who were affected.

I understand what's happening, and I really do find hope, strength and even joy in the Lord. I know He has a wonderful plan, and, as the song says, "though trials may come I have this hope." I continue to pray for the victims of these disasters.
