And that's it! I'm sorry that this mission ended up on such a sad note... but I really wanted to do it this way.I wasn't too excited to do this mission at first, but then I realised that it could give Opal some good development that I totally hadn't planned for her to have yet! But she's pretty stubborn, so it takes her a while to learn lessons anyway.
Some people might say that her last thoughts here are kind of selfish, but... I think that's the first step for her to show affection, haha. ^^Previous: [link]

Cheer up Chloe! Myra's been kicking Shade's butt back there and I'm sure she wouldn't like to see you like this.
The comic looks good and I think it's quite standing out from the others I've seen so far in that there's so much thoughts 'speaking' in there which I believe brings the characters really close to the reader. ^^

Thank you! :3 That's pretty much what I wanted: I knew there was going to be a lot of comics about people being sad, so I thought it would be interesting to tell the story from the point of view of Opal, who doesn't really know what to feel about others being sad. And it also worked as a great 'bonding moment' between Opal and Chloe.
I actually also used this mission as practise for a comic with quite a lot of inner monologue. Originally, the first comic I planned to do that would have been from Chloe's pov. But that will happen in the next mission! ^^

Cool! I wonder how Chloe will solve the problem in the next few missions. They'll involve Steel City as far as I know, and the city's gonna be locked in some energy force bubble while we'll be trying to get inside. I don't know how it'll be in more detail, but PK said it'll be super exciting in the chat xD
Looks like there's a lot of fun stuff both in the past and in the present, and I'm really looking forward for those!

Opal really was trying, but I think it's sometimes very hard to act in a situation like this. She just couldn't bring herself to do anything more.

Wow, that was pretty powerful. I like how Chloe managed to keep a cheerful face for everyone right up until now...until Opal gets to see the floodgates break open a little. The lack of a background sort of hammers it home.
Sad feels abound.

Thank you! Yeah, I was trying hard to make the mood of the comic change quite dramatically, because it was an shock for Opal, too. I'm really happy if I managed to create the right feeling.
