First ever attempt at water balloon popping. Those are my sisters hands.No manipulation. I only added some contrast and sharpness.

I know the "popping a water balloon at high speed" photo isn't anything particularly new, but actually having the hands in the shot just does something really cool to it for me. I'm not totally sure why, but it really makes the shot appeal to me.

If you want the admins to respect your work and even consider giving it a DD, first off, you could avoid putting others down to try and promote yourself, as no admin appreciates an artist with a bad attitude towards the community. Second, you could read the site guidelines before griping about DDs:

im not trying to promote myself, if you look into my gallery youll see that none of my photos are in any clubs or that they link to other photos in my gallery, even if they are from the same series. is that a gallery from someone who is desperately trying to promote himself? i think not 
im just trying to prove a point. usually, i mean never before in my 5-6 years how long i was on this site i never commented on a dd that i dont approve. im have nothing against this artist or his work, but if someone features him, then feature his best work. for example this [link] i think this is much better and more inovative, not only from a technical side but also from a creative side
im not trying to have a bad attitude towards the community, i never had a negative feedback to my comments over the years. i admit, today wasnt my day, bad insomnia over the last 3 months plus other problems, and i just went for it.. ok, i read the faq, and i get the point. ill stick to my usually routine, at least for the next 5-6 years

its better to use a longer exposure in a dark environment and use the flash to freeze the moment.
because flash can fire at 1/10 000s and faster.

About 20 balloons we popped, half of them turned out pretty good, but this one turned out the best
