The Ribbons Were Created BY ~superstitious13OK, so my friend cortney came up with this thing were you wear black ribons around your wrist(s) if you yourself or anyone you know has "hurt" themselves - cutting and such - i thought it was a really beautiful and powerful idea, because ppl normally keep quiet (mouth covered) or turn a blind eye (one eye being covered)

This is a beautiful picture! I always wear an orange bracelet around my wrist for self-injury awareness, but I really loe this idea as well. It makes me happy to see such a moving picture promoting self-injury awareness. Thank you so much for posting this!

the photo itself is absolutely beautiful! it is very flawless, her hands and face, her skin. the slight sheen on the ribbons is very dramatic, but doesn't take away from the effect, it adds to it so that as a whole, this piece is even more stirring, whether the meaning is understood or not. the lighting is perfect!
the symbolism as well is so strong, and true unfortunitely. see no evil, speak no evil.. no one ever wants to talk about those kinds of things.. they just stay hidden in the obvious. i'm going to have to track down some black ribbons and spread the idea around. maybe if people could talk about that kind of thing more, it wouldn't be so taboo, people would be able to understand better, and maybe things could be done to help people who have these tendencys.
i love it. two thumbs way way up, and favs all around.

this is beautifully done..very powerful..fantastic lighting..the whole texture of the ribbon fits in so wel with soft skin texture..i can almost feel the smoothness blending into each other and then there is this beautiful crisp eye,
