this is my wonderful friend Jay, who modeled for this and a couple other shots for my 1984 project. This was just my idea of how Winston would be in his surroundings.comment please

Jay is Winston! I love it! There is that look of forlorness there, which is more appropriate than straightup despair, as he was one of intelligence. He looks more forlorn than totally hopeless. I am curious, too where this was taken, but as you say, it's your secret! lol

It's a Curmudgeon! I've seen his version of this alley. It strikes me as ironic that such a vibrant, colorful alleyway can be just as effective- if not more so- in B&W.

Excellent shot! This one is much grittier than your other pieces, and I love it! I love the 1984 concept behind it as well. I always associated Ingsoc with immaculate and symetrical settings, so I can totally picture Winston enjoying the street life with this photo

1984... u kno, i was really dissapointed with that book, especially towards the end. good concepts, just didn't like the story very much. you should see this movie called equilibrium with chritian bale. people say it's a matrix rip-off, but it's not really. there's one scene that's really similar to a scene in the first matrix film, and maybe their costumes. if you liked 1984, u might wanna check it out...
and nice shot. first thing i thought of though was wwii, but 1984 works well also.
