Thank you.

Lugging the equipment wasn't too bad since it is a rather nice walk along a river. We originally went there in hope that the bluebells would be out. There were some out but the best carpets were out of our reach unfortunately.

I've submitted an alternative crop of this image and brought the greens out a little more. It can be found here. [link]

I can just agree overall a very nice work! Good that you are back e.deviantart.com/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink)" />

kkart is quite correct to push out the green a bit more. the rest is great as it is.

I just have some more thoughts about the composition. I would have give it a try to move the camera more to the right to gain more of the very nice green stones, because on the left side of the image isnt sth more of interest. This emptiness disturbs me a bit + this part of the tree there up. Just some of my thoughts about the composition. I guess with post processing work there is no chance to achieve my thoughts.

Anyway a very well exposed shot! Congratulations! e.deviantart.com/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink)" />

Thanks. I think I will need to visit this place more often. It's not very far away from the coast from me and I've lived here all my life. However, it wasn't until I met my fella and he suggested we go here with the cameras. That was our first photography outing and the rest, as they say, is history!

Overall, a job very well done!

I would maybe saturate selectively in the greens just a tad, to give it a little added punch, excellent attention to exposure though, I can certainly admire that! I love the angle you chose and how the falls break apart from the rock which is goes through.

When I see this, it makes me think of a CD cover for the 'Sounds of Nature CD", perhaps it is something to do with the square cropping. Speaking of which, I would be curious to see what the actual shot looks like to compare.

I can't think of anything to especially suggest, this is just a good shot!

I agree, some green saturation boost would give it some extra "punch."

Thanks for the feedback. I'm beginning to like this critique feature.

I've submitted an alternative version, which you've already seen. Plus I'll bring those greens out and update this one.

I just found out about this place and had already added it to my list of places to visit. Nice take on the falls and agree with some of the crit above. Not sure how I feel about the centered comp but overall a good photo.

It's a lovely atmosphere there. There's a overwhelming feeling of love in this place. I'm sure you will enjoy it when you visit one day.

Easily the best exposure of the Glen falls on DA, what I would ask though is it has a little more weight to the top of the images as the falls behind are cut short a little. A bit like this...

Other than that its awesome.

Thanks. I'm having a fiddle with the original image in regards to the feedback I've had currently. I put this one up as a square originally since I knew I hadn't done a square of the kieve yet. That's a nice shot by the way.

Thanks. It's a lovely location. I squared this one because I was worried the sky might look like a bit whited out compared to the rest of it.

I really like this image. I agree with both of the critiques you received.

IF you were going to edit this image, I would simply overexpose the RAW file by +1EV and HDR the 2 exposures. That way you get more details in the bottom left shadows, and it would also make the greens pop vs. saturating them.

but my very first thought when it popped on my screen was, "damn I was this was mine!"

Shutterflutter In reply to jnati [2009-04-20 00:32:32 +0000 UTC]
