Trying for the Inktober Challenge for the second year in a row! Last year was great practice and a lot of fun, so I'm pretty excited about the next few weeks - I hope I'll be able to keep up! This time, I chose 'Literary Characters' as a theme, so expect 31 renditions of characters from some of my favourite novels.

First up is Dorian Gray, the title character from Oscar Wilde's classic The Picture of Dorian Gray, about a handsome young man who, upon seeing an artist's rendition of his own beauty, wishes his looks were everlasting, and that his portrait would bear the traces of his age and sins instead. The book was highly controversial at its time (didn't take much with the stuffy Victorian morals back then), which Wilde probably enjoyed a little too much because he kept being controversial until it pretty much ruined him. Personally I've always been intrigued by the premise of this story and by the delectably evil Mr Gray bite me 50SoG fans, Wilde did it better. And who wouldn't want to be invited to indulge in every carnal pleasure they desire by a hedonistic beauty?
