this is for 's contest. today's the deadline. i wanted to get it in yesterday but my modem exploded---------------
KNOCKOUT
*real name : Jenny Bunting
*age : 19
*hgt : 5'8
*wgt : varies (usually between 140-300lbs)
*powers : Knockout can control the metabolism of people around her. She can speed it, slow it down, affect how people digest their food, etc. This can lead to multiple effects, such as putting the person asleep (thus the name, knockout), increasing their stamina, healing wounds, making them hungry, or as she usually resorts to, controlling their weight. She also keeps a bag full of special gagdets to help her fight crime. Items such as smoke bombs, laser cutters, night vision goggles, & even a few snacks, just in case she (or someone else she's using her powers on) gets the munchies.
*history : Once but a gifted chemistry major, Jenny was working on a formula to help control people's weights. There was the obligatory explosion when she mixed the wrong chemicals. She thought she was ok until she woke up the next day 20lbs lighter. She was thrilled & went out to go shopping. At the mall that day, she was witness to a girl shoplifting. The girl tried to run, but Jenny, trying to be a good samaritan grabbed her. The girl fought back, swinging viciously. Jenny got clocked hard. But instead it awakened something inside of her. Suddenly her hands started to steam. Suddenly she had this weird feeling about how much energy the girl was exerting running. It was weird, but in this split second, Jenny decided to make it harder on her. the girl, making her way to the door, started to slow down. She dropped to the ground, fast asleep. Jenny was shocked. She went to the lab & could feel the energy of her labrats. Being a scientist, she tested out her abilities on them. She realized she could control the metabolism of things around her. That night, before falling asleep, the idea of crimefighting just popped into her head. The next day though, she woke up with a shock. She must have gained 60 lbs overnight! She then remembered her powers, thinking it must have been a side effect, but thought nothing off it. She thought she could simply use them to work her way down to a slender figure again in a matter of minutes. However, try as she might, it wouldn't work. For some reason, she couldn't control her own metabolic rate. She went shopping again, this time for bigger clothes, On the way home from the mall, she came across a car accident. She helped the victims using her powers, even though it might mean she'd wake up even heavier the next day. The idea of helping people struck her as something she was meant to do.
*weakness : Due to her powers, Knockout's own metabolism is completely out of whack. Everyday she wakes up, it's almost random! She's in the process of 'fixing' this with her chemistry know-how. She's also quite self-conscious which doesn't always help matters. Especially when the villains she fights & the press happen to bring up her weight. Despite this, another side effect (much like some anime girls), she is almost always ravenously hungry, so food can also be a distraction.
*personality : She's smart & kind of quiet, but sweet to those she's friends with. She hates the side effects of her abilities, but helping people is more important to her.

also, i've been told that the stories i write up for these characters seem to be demeaning. i'm sorry if that's the case with this one too, but the idea is it's supposed to be a chubby superheroine, so i mean she sort of needs a story to go along with her. sorry!

Sorry, favourited this without commenting. Love it! Why do i love it? Hmm...
Um, i suppose it's my tracksuit fetish. Also, i'm trying to learn to draw and i think this is a really good example of the kind of thing i'm aiming at, so you're my mentor in this respect. This also really respects the anatomy of a real person, unlike a lot of other human figures seen on here: the existence of the rib cage, for example, is clearly acknowledged and the thighs join realistically to the hips rather than looking stuck on. But i'm sure i needn't tell you any of this.

I love how the outfit clings to her obsese form. Very fetching.

Really nice character design. It's a really nifty outfit, too.

Nice. Shall I make the usual 'what a knockout' joke?

Don't really have much to say, but that's a damn good drawing.

That's just a matter of opinion on it being demeaning. I like your stories quite well, and I see you play it out with the flow. Plus, good job on the new character on the profile and drawing. Knockout's really a knockout. **people boo at his corny pun** I know I know...

thanks! but even if the demeaning -ness (is that a word?) is a matter of a opinion, i'm sorry people get that from my stuff. it's certainly not the intention!
