Description I think this piece was inspired by my latest poll question.

H.P. Lovecraft is one of my favorite writers and his works have been a big influence on me. I'm surprised it has taken me this long to get around to doing a piece in his honor, but now I finally have. This piece features a bunch of monsters influenced by his writings, in particualr...

Cthulhu, the Deep ones, Chthonians, Gugs, Moon-Beasts, Zoth-Ommog, the Great old ones and the Necronomicon!

Zoth_Ommog is not technically one of Lovecraft's direct creations. It is one of the sons of Cthulhu and is part of the Cthulhu mythos but was created by August Derleth, one of the many writers who continued on Lovecraft's ideas.

I really don't think a comment is needed here. Amazing work, intricate details and I'm just a bit too awestruck to make a proper comment right now.

I don't know whether or not you're aware of this (probably you are), but I found this piece at a website and wondered if you had given them permission to use it. [link]
Hopefully you have since it would be a shame if this great piece would be sold without you getting any credit.

Although I don't find this stuff particularly scary in comparison to the works he wrote, I do like the style and colour you used. The smog is just awesome. Good stuff!

That tickles my macabre obsession. Lovecrafts writing has had a massive impact on my storytelling (and art) and I love to find others as inspired.

This is fantastic, the line-art is very, very impressive; the colouring is delightfully spot-on.

"I'm a simple man, with simple pleasures. Though if I were the one making the things in the world, taking God's place, you would wish you were dead."

-No one, it just sounds like something HP himself would say.

Okay, I'm become quite familiar with Lovecraft in the past two years, and here's where my familiarity runs out: "Chthonians, Gugs, Moon-Beasts, Zoth-Ommog." Are these characters from the stories of Lovecraft's colleagues (the "Lovecraft Circle"), or modern-day Cthulhu mythos writers?

I thought for sure the creature on the far left was a shoggoth!
