Description
This is the cover for the upcoming reprinting of the RITE mini-series "2 Miles South Past the Inferno". The back story for these characters is this...RITE is a bandaged psuedo-hero. With the aid of a scientist turned turtle and a small boy they travel through time destroying the monsters of their arch nemesis Hanky-Ka. Hanky-Ka travels through time leaving a monster to rule that time period in his name, so when he returns back to the present it will be as though he ruled the world throughout its past.
Kind of a crazy backstory but it lends itself to some really fun tales with lots of monsters. This reprinting of issue #1 of this 3-part mini-series will be available soon through my website. Keep checking back for details.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun drawing it and really want to get back into this character. I had several chances to publish an ongoing series but just didn't have the time with my full-time job. I hope to be able to do more sometime.

I wish we all had more time to do stuff. As long as you keep drawing this chracter, you're not gonna forget him.

and sounds very interesting too!
Maybe I'll get myself a copy.
That great "El Ya-Kracko" guy in the background reminds me a little bit of Cthulhu. cool

This looks like a lot of fun! You got me sold! Great job on the cover! Should I even ask about the flanges on the girls elbows? It's funny how no one mentioned them sooner.

The monster in the background is sooo ugly, is that Hanky-Ka?

No, that is "El Ya-Kracko", Hanky-Ka's henchman monster that controls that time period. Hanky-Ka is a little melon-headed guy in a suped up wheelchair. Sometimes he is known as the gangster of the deadly death.

No, he is just a minion of Hanky Ka's.

Good work! My only crit is that the girl and little boy seem a tad out of place as they are not lit as elaborately as the man with the gun. I would also recommend making the gun more detailed.

Awesome! anything extra in the re-print? or is it just the original story?

It mainly is the original story with ALL NEW LETTERING! So you can actually read it. I also touched up some of the art, added a FAQ's page about the characters and a couple pages showing sketches and rough script ideas and stuff like that. Should be pretty cool.

No its b&w. I didn't have that much time to spend on older work. Too many new things coming up.

I think he'd rather stay busy creating newer artwork than coloring the old stuff, but color would always be cool if there were a lot more time in the day.
