This was originally going to be a comic book idea where the hooded guy uses the sppider creatures to lure sorority girls into the local college's boiler room.

Very cool. Have you ever tried getting someone to make a movie outta this idea? Like one of those gory B-movies? This is actually a nice premise for something like that, and I'd say this image alone could sell the idea if you had a solid story behind it.

Not a bad idea. I have two movie scripts in the works right now that I'm writing. And another I have optioned, Hopefully soon I canget more into that stuff.

No, not really. I make a lot of short films and direct kids cartoons for a living. I did get to be the Visual FX supervisor on the movie Bubba Ho-Tep and direct a short action segment for a FX channel pilot as well as some storyboards and second unit stuff for the upcoming Don Coscarelli episode for "Masters of Horror" on Showtime..

I directed on and produced some of Jackie Chan adventures, Directed on Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles, designed the characters on Spider-Man ( the cgi one on MTV) also worked on Heavy Gear, Godzilla the animated series, Men in Black cartoon, Big guy and Rusty and Lenore the cute little dead girl. I know there are others but I can't think of 'em. Its been a fun job.

Seriously? I watched Men in Black every morning, and I have the mtv Spider-man on dvd. Those are some of my favorite shows, along with Batman, Justice League/JL-Unlimited, and Teen Titans. I'm humbled.

I did watch the commentaries on that disc, and I remember bits of what was said. There was some talk of the artists who influenced the style, Todd Mcfarlane and maybe Mark Bagley were mentioned. I remember also that it was the first animated show to adopt a kind of 2D lineart style of animation. And I saw the blooper bit that had Spider-Man wearing bunny ears.
You said you were the character designer. That means you did all the drawings before these things went to animation, right? You might have come up with Mary Jane's short hair cut, Harry's blonde, and TurboJet's pharaoh-inspired helmet design. You drew all those different hairstyles for Indy, that Terrax guy, and you almost certainly drew those various posters that showed up on the show for zombie rock bands and things, right? I could be wrong about that, but it sounds right. It was all excellent work.

Thanks, thats right I did all that. But I can't take all the blame on some of those designs, MTV and Sony had a lot of say in the look of the characters. I think a lot of my designs were not 'sexy' enough for them and they went through several changes. I wish I could show some of the rejected stuff. But I did have full say on all those posters and things. I always like the movie poster that was called "Blow them Up Squad!"

Yes, I noticed those. It was nice to think that the guys behind that show went through the trouble to make those posters when most kids I know wouldn't appreciate that kind of extra effort. But they were a great, I felt it was nice professional touch.
And not sexy enough? Y'know, it's a funny thing you should mention that, because I once suggested the DVD at my job to a lady who was buying for her kids. I work at one of those big corporate bookstores, y'know? It's a shitty job, sure, but I sometimes get to make personal recommendations like that. Unfortunately, she didn't buy it, and her reason was this:
"It was on MTV? Y'know, I think MTV, and how do I know they won't just take off their clothes and have sex with each other?"
She actually said that. Could you believe it? I laughed at her!
