Description
I'm doing a painting of Hallucigenia and got to thinking, what if the other Burgess Shale critters didn't like him because he's so weird? And he didn't get invited to their parties? And it would be funny, because they're all so weird too.Just in case my drawing sucks, the party-goers are Anomalocaris (pink, because it's like a shrimp), Sidneyia (blue), Opabinia (yellow), and Aysheaia (purple).

I'm guessing they're laughing because he's walking upside-down on his spines and has only one line of tentacles/actual legs.

but hallucigenia was turned the other way around (yours is walking belly up) and the soft "tentacles" were paired

That's how Hallucigenia was originally interpreted. The "new" version, with the spikes on its back, is only a few years old. I purposely went with the old-school reconstruction because it made me WTF so hard.

Cool! I love the Burgess creatures, and used to draw Hallucigenias and Wiwaxias with shadows and looking pretty scary...
