My submission for NATG XII, Day 10: "Draw a pony full of pride / Draw a pony going above and beyond." A Dashtronaut! Needed a simpler/easier drawing for today—which made it a little harder to decide on what to draw, haha—since the Day 3 drawing I'll be submitting for Make Up day is still far from done and likely to take a lot of energy, haha. Though this was only really simple in that I only did a bust drawing, because apparently I decided to draw Dash in her astronaut outfit from Scare Master. Drawing the full thing would've taken quite a while But just the head of it wasn't so bad. I was really struggling, because I'd just done a Rainbow drawing yesterday already! But this prompt is just too perfect for Rainbow Dash, like ... come on! So I was trying my hardest to think of something that wasn't Rainbow-related, perhaps leaning into a pun. In the end, yeah, I went for a sort of pun—"above and beyond" the world in this case—but still ended up being Rainbow ... 'cause, like, even above and beyond puns still apply to Rainbow, 'cause, like, she's a Pegasus! xD The other ideas of course were drawing LGBT Pride ponies, which I honestly would've loved to do too, maybe a Transhy or maybe trans Zipp, because I love those headcannons (also the greatness of the Transhy portmantaeu, but a number of other ponies have that too, like Bilight, haha xD ). A part of me still wishes I did, but in the end I couldn't resist drawing a Rainbow Dash for the pride prompt, and I've already recently drawn an LGBT Pride Dash, so I just went for something simple, I guess, haha.

And honestly, I think it came out pretty cool! Honestly it's surprising how much a simple background can make a difference. Something simple like this really doesn't take that long, but it really makes the whole piece, makes it more ethereal, and really makes it feel like she's floating above everything and in space. Dashie's awesome astronaut outfit was actually super cool to replicate too. Particularly the helment, I think. Also, Tia, how's Dash fit her mane under that? It's kinda' crazy seeing her without it xD Though at least it meant I didn't have to draw it! xD Just instead I had to draw the whole astronaut headpiece, haha. Trade-Offs, I suppose!
