I just love me some Peanut Butter and Jam on toast!

My submission for NATG X: Day 5! Today's prompt was "Draw a Pony Enjoying Your Favorite Food / Draw a Pony Family Moment." And whew, this was intended to be an easy one, but it ended up taking me ages to do. I wasn't sure if I was going to make the deadline ... Hence why there's no shading, haha It took so long I think partly because of having to draw the PBnJ Toast and the simple background I added, but mostly because I was being super fussy about drawing Sig. Sig's design might look rather simple, but, at least for me, it's subtly difficult to pull off just right. Like, I swear, specifically, I am never quite happy with how I do their mane at the time of drawing and can end up spending half an hour to an hour (between the sketch and final lining) just fiddling and changing and altering it, not to mention trying to get the lighter brown colour part inside the mane right. I have to try get the spikes "just so" or it really bothers me, haha ... I guess that's what happens when you're drawing something of your own design, though, I guess, haha

Originally I was going to call this piece "Peanut Bitter and Jam" as a pun on "Bits" and "Butter," but I thought it sounded too much like I was saying that it was "bitter," so I decided against it But yes, arguably my favourite food is just some Peanut Butter and Jam on Toast! So I had this funny idea where Sig has to spread the Peanut Butter and Jam using a knife with their teeth, since they're an Earth Pony xD And I think it came out pretty well. Originally I was thinking of drawing Sig eating some oats or porridge, because that's actually my favourite breakfest meal, but once I thought of PBnJ and I had this idea I knew I had to draw it, haha!
But yeah, it may seem odd, but PBnJ has quite a bit of meaning for me. For the longest time I remember I've always loved PBnJ, and I'd have it all the time in my sandwhiches for school as a child. It was always a good part of my day at lunch time getting to have a PBnJ sandwhich. These days it's sort of evovled into PBnJ on toast, which I have all the time now (and am very particular about which Peanut Butter I use xD Jam too, but Peanut Butter specifically ). I think it must harken back for me as it's become largely a comfort food for me. Some PBnJ on toast with a nice cup of tea. It's also what I'd make for myself to watch the newest episode with each week, since as long as I can remember now, so it's got some extra meaning there too as it reminds me of when MLP was still running, haha ... So yeah, PBnJ on toast has a lot of meaning to me one way or another! xD Which is perhaps why I'd consider it my favourite food. It's dependable and always something to come back to and for me to enjoy. Sometimes you just have meaning in the most mundane or simplest of things.
