This was drawn for severed_lies at LJ. Can you tell I was apprehensive about Snape's fate in Book 7?Staedtler pens and grey Tombow marker on paper.

I love it! It's funny, drawing someone like Snape in a posture so ordinary! But everyone needs to wake up and dress for the day!

This is such a wonderful idea for a character like Snape. I can't remember which fanfiction anymore (I think it was one of duj's SSHG stories, which can be found on FanFiction.net), but there was a snippet from somewhere that's always remained in the back of my mind. Hermione asks Snape how he wakes up in the mornings, how he gets out of bed, and he says something to the extent of, "I wake up. I just do it." I'm sure the fanfiction was much more eloquent than my shoddy memory makes it out to be, but the point is there. Getting up each morning can be quite a chore for Severus Snape.

i really love your snape, sigune. you can tell his face has been defined by years of the same expressions crossing daily. the cleft chin is a fanastic detail that always appeals to me!
