"Dad, really, it's no big deal. I'll probably ditch him when we move again," __________ said, trying not to sound too pleading. "Really, you don't have to meet him. It's-"

"We won't be moving for a while," her mother cut in. "Not until the werewolves are gone. And he sounds fine, just bring him over for dinner tonight, won't you?"

Her father glared at her from across the room. "He better come looking good, and acting good or may the Devil have sympathy for him."

___________ coughed to hide her laughter. "I'll let him know."

She biked over to the park as quickly as she could, eager to see the one boy she loved the most. She saw him resting on a bench tapping his fingers along the green, peeling paint, and she promptly plopped down. He smirked at her.

"Look who's-"

"You're coming over for dinner," she interrupted.

He swallowed. "What now?"

"My parents want to see you, or I can't see you anymore. Which would you rather?" she asked. Lucifer rolled his eyes.

"This is fun."

"I know," she snickered. "You gotta look excellent."

He winked and grabbed her arm. They appeared in his disgustingly messy dorm and he blushed. There were pillows and blankets and charred bits of fabric on the floor, his bed was unmade and his clothes were strewn everywhere. But it smelled so good. That mixture of burnt wood and soft spices made her dizzy.

"I have a suit," he said, holding out a crumpled suit that smelled somewhat like beer and Doritos.

For just pretending to be human, he seemed to really be playing the part of a college student.

She nodded. "Yeah, no. That smells like shit. It's too formal anyways." She rummaged through his drawers much to his chagrin and pulled out a wrinkled button up. She tossed it at him. "Iron it." He rolled his eyes and snapped his fingers, and it was perfectly crisp and new. She smiled.

"Tell me that jeans are fine," he grumbled.

"They're perfect."

She smiled at him, watching as he fumbled with the buttons of his shirt. She sauntered up to him and pressed a kiss to his cheek. She took his hands. "Hey I'm not done yet, I-"

She grinned and finished buttoning up his shirt for him. "Your fingers are too clumsy, Lucifer." He smiled and picked her up, kissing her sweetly. He cradled her in his arms before tossing her onto his bed. He dove under the covers beside her and pulled her tight.

"I want to stay here," she mumbled into his chest.

He grinned. "We'll be here 'til it's time, alright?"

And they did stay, dozing off and drifting into their half-lidded musings, completely and totally satisfied.

When they finally stirred again, it was seven.

"Oh God! We're going to be so late!"

"We won't."

They appeared in her yard, and he knocked on the door pleasantly.

"Do I look alright?" he asked anxiously.

"You look wonderful," ___________ said, smoothing a cowlick quickly as her mother unlocked the door.

Lucifer gave her an award-winning smile, all charm and manners. "Hello, Mrs. __________. It's wonderful to finally meet you, my name is Luci. I'm very-"

"That's a girl's name!" a gruff voice was heard from inside.

"That would be my father," __________ muttered under her breath.

"I'm sorry, won't you come inside?" the somewhat dull and wary-looking woman sighed.

Lucifer motioned for __________ to go first, and a flicker of approval appeared in her mother's eyes. He winked at _________.

They got inside where Lucifer proceeded to introduce himself to her father. "Good evening sir, my name is Luci-"

"Last name kid?" The angry-looking man rose to his feet and glared at Lucifer.

Lucifer swallowed. "Angeli."

"Latin for 'angel', kid. You better hope that doesn't mean anything."

Lucifer opened his mouth to respond, but bit it back. He couldn't know too much.

They sat at dinner a few minutes later, a tense and mostly silent dinner.

"Kid, you smell like you been hanging in a bad crowd."

"He smells like a bonfire dad, what college-"

"He smells like sulphur, and that's a damn different thing."

___________ grabbed Lucifer's hand under the table and forced a smile. "Dad, I thought-"

"You can't be running around with any hunters, now."

"He's just a kid in chemistry, Dad."

"Yes sir, I'm taking chemistry since I'm studying to become a pharmacist," Lucifer sighed in relief, thankful that he hadn't decided to bring up hunting.

____________'s father arched an eyebrow and shook his head. With a begrudging sigh, he forced out the words, "You passed."

He stood up from the table and stormed upstairs.

Lucifer had never smiled wider in his entire existence.

He smiled at __________'s mother and thanked her profusely. "It was a wonderful dinner, ma'am. Would you mind if I took _________ out for ice cream?"

"Go ahead, I don't have a use for you kids here anymore," she said indifferently.

He smiled and whisked her back to his dorm. They jumped back into bed and nestled in each other's arms, the thrill of fear and excitement buzzing in their veins.

He kissed her temple. "Satan just ate your parents' green beans."

__________ laughed and kissed his nose. "They'd never guess."
