Well, I'm going to consider this my first upload of 2012, since this reference was designed for such. xDIt's finally time for a new Siki refernce! WOOOOO.
There is so much more I could have put in here. Like what his ion canon looks like after he transforms his arm into such, his different robo-eye colors, his glowing spots, information on the flexiblood, and just... A LOT. But alas, there was no space, and I think this is going to do just fine as a physical reference for future drawings and such. C:
Also. Maybe a comic coming up soon. So I gotta have an appropriate reference so you guys aren't so shocked to see him in that, eh? :'D
So yeah. New Siki! Yay!
He is still my loveable, fluffernutter fursona. I've come a long way since 2009. Or 2008? Whatever it was.
Copyright to me, blah blah blah, do not steal, do not use for your own role plays or anything like that please! He's mine, and normally I'm a little more lenient with thieves and stuff, but I'm very protective over Sikiboy. xD Please don't get on that side of me. And this ref sheet easily took me over 10 hours to do, and I've put a crap load of effort into it.

what are the blue raised spots and stripes? I have always wondered.

I'm so totally about to get all nerdy on you. You have been warned.
I actually wanted to put the information into the ref sheet this time, but I had no room so a;lsdfjakls;fa I'll have to make another one, but the three raised spots on his shoulder are kind of like control rooms for specific jobs. The biggest one is actually a small-scale electric generator that powers his nerves. The medium-sized one controls growth of the actual robotic parts, because Siki had the surgery done at so young, he needed his parts to grow with him as he aged. It sends out other electric stimuli that cause the special metal to expand at the same rate his bones and other organs do. The smallest one has two functions: for one, it encases a small "emergency brain" that is kind of like a backup to the backup, in case all else fails. The "brain" is programmed with the basic functions of life: breathing, eating, and sleeping. It is only used in extreme cases. Also in that small spot, ironically, is the emergency shut-down "button." There's a passcode in order to shut him down, and it's only in extreme cases where that is needed.
The stripes on his legs are a bit different. The two stripes that are lower on each leg (they wrap around the back of his leg) are merely "caps" for his gas tanks. They are extremely fireproof, moreso than his other parts, for obvious reasons. They also have electric pulses, just in case, and some other genetic coding yadda yadda. The stripes that are slightly higher contain artificial sensory nerves that pick up heat and chemicals. They also supply extra strength and energy to his back legs, as they need to be super strong for takeoff when flight is needed. He can also jump like a mofo because of this.
And lastly, on his tail. The big one at the topmost region covers up the actual backup energy source. Real snow leopards' bodies store fat in their tails for energy and sustenance when winter gets too cold and all the animals are gone, so I thought this would be a nice little resemblance. It also contains artificial sensory nerves, mostly to detect pressure differences in the atmosphere, depending on height and whatnot. I'm still figuring out what the middle ring does exactly, I haven't gotten that far. The last spot has the capability to display audio messages from the other members of Siki's team (that's the story I'm going to attempt to get into with this next year), and caps the wifi and GPS connections. Again, also has sensory nerves and electric pulses and supplies extra strength when needed.
All of the blue markings (spots and stripes) are covered with a diamond-like mineral that is said to be "unbreakable," but there's a weakness, I just can't give that away. xD

All of that is so rad, I always secretly thought he might be suffering from some strain of the bubonic plague, But I figured you liked him to much for that to make sense.
One more question, He is clearly set in a world were all this is possible and he can have a team but are there humans in this world? I can't imagine any other creature with the dexterity for such extensive work, I mean I guess apes could work.. any how, why did the surgeon decide to save siki so young?

Yes, there are in fact humans. c: One of the main characters is the doctor who has done the work on Siki - he's a prestigious, well-known scientist who actually started off the revolutionary technological advances of his time. I don't have any pictures or info on him just yet, as he is still a work in progress (hell, I'm debating on making "him" a "her" at this point), but yeah, humans are there. This is set a couple hundred years in the future, but the people in this time are relatively new to the whole "robot animal" idea that's come up. Obviously, the doctor in the story has been exposed to it for a while, but his creations and whatnot are just now starting to pop up more. Most of his research he conducts involves materials that are potential defensive weaponry, as far as contributing to society goes, but he (or she whatever a;slsfd) frequently applies these experiments to this robots he's been making. Furthermore, Siki is actually the first cyborg he's created - the rest of his animals are 100% made himself.
And for the second question, I can't entirely answer since I hope to in my story/comic/thing, but I will let you know that Siki had to be saved. There was an attack in the mountains by another specie of animal (that I also can't really give away a;slsdfja), and he was incredibly badly injured. With what you could say was a stroke of luck, some of the scientist's other experiments are in the mountains and find Siki hanging on a thread from life and all that gushy dramatic stuff. And it was just unfortunate circumstance that Siki was so young. c:
