Note: this is meant for GIMP but i'm pretty sure it's fine with photoshop also.
I think editing eyes is so cool, don't you?

Lol, i just reread it and there are some stupid mistakes (like 'bruses' ), just ignore them
And sorry for not explaining how to turn image to black and white. Just go to colors->desaturate and choose any of the options and click the button "desaturate".

There should be a window labeled: Layers, Channels, Paths, Undo- Brushes and Gradients. There is and arrow pointing this way: <, and when you put your mouse over it, it should say "Configure this tab". Hope this helps you.

Did you get gimp for free, and is it a safe program (like have you gotten a virus from it)? I found a website for a free download, but I don't want to download it in case it has a virus or something.

I'm not the creator of this tutorial, but I can answer some questions for you.
Yes, Gimp is free. And no, I didn't get any viruses from it. (: It's a really great program if you don't want to pay for anything, 'cause the only others are Photoshop which you have to pay for, SAI which you have to pay for, and Corel which I'm pretty sure you have to pay for and really isn't very good anyway, in my opinion.
