Seil and her rainbirds I can't believe I am finally graduating from OClessness XD

Seil keeps rainbirds, they've been hatched at her birth and accompany her since. They live very long and grow up at the same rate as their keepers (bird age equivalent), and their size does end up exceeding that of an adult human being. When their keeper gets to old to move around, they are usually huge enough that they can carry a person on their back. Their full-fledged song can bring rains, normal chirping won't do anything. If they outlive the keeper, they fly away and no one ever sees them again, but it will rain every year on the keeper's death anniversary for ten years. Seil was a happy kid and at one point had a little crisis because she didn't like the idea of keeping for life birds that could call rain. However, she started really loving them when she saw all the flowery growth that came after the downpour.

Seil's six rainbirds are actually the complementary part to her twin brother's glasswork magic. When he melts the glass, he adds a rainbird feather to the fire, and the finished glass only gains protective powers after being drenched in the first rain sung by the rainbirds. Wild rainbirds sing because their hatchlings feed on tender vegetal sprouts that grow very fast after the rain. So a few weeks after the birds' mating season, when the eggs hatch, the adult birds' songs cause the rainy season. Birdkeepers grow up with their birds to attune themselves to their song. They call the birds by singing the same harmonies as their own birds. Experienced birdkeepers sometimes manage to produce a song close enough to the birds that they can make it drizzle, but only the birds can call the monsoon. Rainbirds are said to be the children of the clouds. By extension, that is sometimes what people call the birdkeepers.

I finally did a pic of an OC that's been in my head only for quite some time, thanks to the switcharound meme with and !!! I needed to make a ref for a female OC of mine Sorry for being so slow >_<

Wonderful came by for stamp carving yesterday, and brought me so many art supplies! Now I'm painting with 3 watercolour boxes (my own Winsor & Newton (12), Sakura Dalian petit color (18), and her Sakura Dalian petit color (12))~ It feels luxurious @_@
