Description Help me out please!
I'm kinda having a hard time designing the HUD elements for Guardians of the Rose.

I tried various things, but it's difficult to really find that truly awesome design!
As you can see, I'm working on the HP/MP and currency for the HUD, you know...
What you pretty much always see on-screen as you play..

I personally thought the partitioned HP-bar works well, but I've also made a Zelda-style "HP-bar" in which the player's Grimoire's deplete.

Oh, and besides the really unoriginal coin, I made essence (just pure energy), a rose coin, a gem and a ruby as currency as well.

If you have any ideas on how to make it better, please share it with me!
If you like any of these, please tell me as well!

I think the middle one is most easy to read, although, I really like the design of the simple slider bar on the right as well. I would give it a darker colour behind the empty bit on that one just to make the life you have left stick out a little more.  The ones on the left look like they could easily work with a little polish. Personally I would use the middle ones because of the readability, but it depends on how you want the game to look as well
As for the coins, I like the second one. Still a coin, but has a unique style to it. The others could be used as alternate currencies though

Oh! That's a very helpful comment, thank you!
The middle one could work pretty well, but I'm worried it may take up too much vertical screen space :/
The coin with a hole isn't very complex, but as you said, unique in way.
I'm waiting for a reaction from the developer so I can continue with this.
In the meantime, I'll make some lineless weapons and continue working on the witches.

I rather like the simplicity of the grimoire bars, I imagine the amount of damage you'll take and the mana you'll use will be very easy to read.
The fourth from the top-right is pretty nice too!

Also, the currencies look pretty nice!

Oh, thank you!
I appreciate the feedback

I personally think the slider is a bit weak, but it might work if I edited it a bit :/

I actually like your coin a lot, and the ruby. They shine/sparkle on them looks amazing. My favorite bar is the one in the top right corner. I like the silver buttons and the nubs. I thin the silver and red go together better than the blue-red-yellow combo.

What's the game about? ^^

Thank you very much for your feedback!
The game is about a secret guild which protects world peace.
As the guild leader, you can either encourage revolution or wage war.
It combines elements of several games, but it's a bit like a fast-paced Zelda combined with the Elder Scrolls' RPG-elements.

Unfortunately, the beta hasn't been released yet, so I can't give a lot of in-depth information
But if you're interested in the game, I recommend watching the Kickstarter page here !

I have some other art for this game in my gallery, as does the developer of the game.
You can check out his page here

By the way, if I were to use the silver bar... how do you suppose I should show the MP bar?

You're welcome. That looks like really cool project! Maybe I'll get it on steam when it comes out.
Hmmm... Maybe you could make it taller and add a second color? Maybe a green? Green and red compliment each other. Although that might look to much like Christmas. XD Or you could maybe do a strip of the silver "metal" between two bars of the same color?

Hmm, I don't know if two bars of the same color will work. It might be a bit confusing, but I suppose I could test other colors besides red and blue
I hope you'll get the game when it's out, it'll be the first published game I worked on, so it'd mean a lot to me!

Yeah. The same color could be confusing.
That sounds amazing. I'd love to work on a project like that once I get better at pixeling. <3
