I really dig the whole sepia-ish tone going on, how it looks like an old, crumbled piece of parchment featuring this beautiful woman in a dress. The linework is beautiful, also. Reminds me of an old-fashioned portrait, with a little twinge of mystery added in.

I think it looks one of a kind with that old look to it. That expression in the picture looks haunting, and this is why it's a great piece of art

Out of all the one's I've seen on your Gallery... I think this one is my Fav... I don't know... but I think it's more because of the style used here...
I wish I had the Attention span to actually get something as good as this... but Noooo~ *shrugs*
I'll just keep with my Photography and Computer works instead...
and maybe turn one of my Self-Portraits into an Anime form.

She's got a nice elegant look and the colours fit really well. Very nice detail on the clothes with all the folds and a really well drawn face and hair.
This is my favourite thing in your gallery hehe, I'll try to remember to fav it later when my most recent one has been on top for a while longer.

Hmm... so hereI am at last, commenting on your things like I said I would. And on the older pictures too, it seems! Unless they're all very new and you just whip em out one right after another. Oo; But I wouldn't know. ::shrugs::
Anyway, I really like this picture a lot! ^^ Very lovely visual the way it's put together, mm hmm. I'm impressed by the dress here, as I'm an avid fan of this style of clothing, and the charater's posture is very precise, very defining. *nods*
And in contradiction to the comments above pertaining to the burnt edges... If one was to actually burn paper, the very dark edges are so damaged that they fall away or crumble... So it would make sense that the paper would get any darker at the edges, no wouldn't it?
Though I do have a comment on the burning here... When paper burns, it sort of goes a yellowy-orange-brown color before it actually turns black.
Why do I clain to be so knowledgeable in burnt paper?
Because I burn stuffins. Yup. ^.~
Seriously, try it somtime, and pay close attention to what the flames do to the paper. If you ever do something similar to this picture, it might be helpful.
Really great job on this though! I loves this piccus! ^.^
Wow... That's... kind of a long post... gomen. ^^()

Interesting. Some kind of "really old picture" feeling you were trying to achieve. Like the dress.

oooohh... I love her dress, and the ruffles, and the ruffles, and the rruuuuufffflllless!! *wishes she didnt listen to Dane Cook so much* I love the parchment feel to it, and because I have never seen anything like this on DA before, I am going to fav it, and because the girl is so darn pretty!! *gasp* are those gloves she is wearing??? *doublegasp* teehee. goodbyes.

I just got this idea to see your very first deviations (in case you haven't deleted them ) And I must say that this is damn impressive, the colors and everything
I think black background would've fit better though (or transparnent
) but it's just a minor detail. It looks like you have done awesome work ever since you got here

This is cool, i like the texture of it and the torn/burnt edges, it adds effect, maybe when youve added her as part of the image, the burn effect could be a bit stronger, just to make her stand out a little more, but apart from that this is sweet

Very nice, too bad jpegs don't have a transparent feature to use with the white at the borders, gif and png do, which are accepatable formats here.

I like it. It's got that sketchy quality to it and the clothing really fits the burned bookpage look. Makes it seem older...
Her hair is kinda neat too...

I agree with neco, i like the texturing although the edges *could* be a little darker, it doesn't take away from the actual drawing, which is great. For some reason, the drawing actually reminds me of a character out of the game, "Vagrant Story," great work.. can't wait to see the comic

This is really awesome. The burn marks don't look very believable, but the cloth does, and the drawing is great!

I personally lime the texture, it gives it a "drawn on a cloth and aged a LONG time and survived a fire" look... whic is good^_^
I especially like the folds at the bottom of her clothes.... so well done

this is very good, but i think the texture is a little too rough.
also, i think there should be a darker edge along where the texture is burned.
i like the coloring and your line as well.
perhaps.
