Description
Phew. Wow. This has been the hardest tutorial so far, so it better be useful!! DxIf you have any questions (which I'm expecting >.<), just comment below (so if someone else has the same question, they can just look and find the answer) and I'll get back to you as soon as I can (which will be the next day at the latest, hopefully). If you don't have a deviantart account, you can email me: kreepykitty@gmail.com
Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing, this totally reminded me how to uses Masks all over again. Used 'em for a while in school, then got out of practice, and then totally forgot how to use them.
Thanks for the memory jog!

You're welcome! I'm glad they helped.
I have to ask though: how do you go WITHOUT them?? I use them on half my layers!

Lol, I probably manage because most of my use of photoshop isn't photomanipulation...it's drawing. I rarely need to mask things as a result because toggling other layer options works just as well.
But I would like to go back and do more work with typography in the future, which you can do a ton of stuff with if you know masks, so the reminder is great

Though I've been using Photoshop on and off for a few years, I've never had a TRUE definition as to what layer masks are, what you would primarily use them for. This clears up a few things though, so thanks for sharing!

For step 2 in CS you probably would only just use a clipping mask. IMO.

lol, actually, yeah. I tried this out at school, and that's what you would do.
