As a whole this tutorial helped a lot and was very insightful just a couple of points i had to skip as they wouldn't work. creating the alpha channel didn't work i had to duplicate one of the channels instead, ctrl+clicking the layer to delete the clouds, leaving the brightest ones, and i can't seems to find gradient map any wheres. but my image still looks like yours so tis all gurd XD btw i used CS5 in case you wondered :3

I suppose you need to switch from Alpha to RGB in channel palette for that.

Filter - Render - Lighting Effects Everything else is in filter's menu to the right, just go through drop-menus.

This can't be since I also have CS5 and everything's there. What does it show in Render menu for you?

Is it Lite version of PS by any chance? Since in default PS set, Lighting Effects are right below Lens Flare >,>

Sorry can't help you here >,< What I know is that all CS versions have it as a standard built-in plugin. You could try downloading the trial PS from adobe.com though and see if there's a difference
