Finally finished!!
At long last I got around to watching ‘Desolation of Smaug’ the other day, and it was AMAZING! Tauriel’s the best thing since sliced bread and her and Kili are utterly adorable together. I ship the heck out of it! And since I finally have some free time now it’s the Easter weekend, I thought I’d spent some time drawing kiliel fanarts. I nearly gave up how many times whilst working on the background and lighting, but I persevered and I must say I’m quite proud of the result.
So here, have some Kili and Tauriel just being happy and enjoying the sunlight together and watching clouds float by. Or, well, Kili is. Tauriel, apparently, is just sitting there with this ‘this is my dwarf; there are many like him, but this one is mine’ expression on her face…

I'm so with you -- not sure what the purist have against Tauriel but I think she was one of the best female characters out of the series (even better than the ones that were SUPPOSED to be in the story!!). Loved her in DoS -- sad with what they did with her in BoFA.

I agree, Tauriel was AMAZING. I honestly have no idea why people could hate her, aside from those who hate any deviation from the original source material, and then, well, they'd pretty much hate the Hobbit trilogy from start to finish anyway, let alone Tauriel, with all those changes they made. And I just so happen to like those changes. I like the fact that making those changes gave us a little more time to spend in Middle Earth, because I for one was certainly not yet ready to let go!
