It took me a while to concisely say what irritates Lyric.

She gets angry about A LOT of things, tbh.

Rosaline: My eldest thinks she antagonizes Lyric the most, but if I'm being completely honest, I don't know a single person who hasn't irritated that woman. She's quicker to give an insult than a compliment. To put it concisely, if something does not fit Lyric's ideal, then it is a source of anger for her.

To give context for this particular moment... When I was 24, I ran away from home to live under a false identity with Richard, who was one of the few people that didn't bend over backwards for my mother. Time passed, and being outside of the watchful eye of Lyric, I was able to become my own person. Richard and I fell in love, and eventually had Danni. When Danni was 3 years old, Lyric finally found me. She and my father wanted me to come back home, because... my brother was causing problems, and people needed a decent person to inherit the throne someday.

We didn't come to immediately live in the castle, because I refused to have Lyric micro-managing my life again, so we would visit for lunch or dinner. If Lyric didn't respect my boundaries, we would leave, because I had absolutely no problem living out the rest of my life as a common citizen.

Slowly but surely, she came to accept that I wasn't her ideal daughter. Lyric isn't a very affectionate person, but my husband thinks that she loves me on some level. If she didn't care, she wouldn't have made the changes that she's done to make our relationship less frigid.
