Adrienne: Well, I guess I don't leave much to the imagination, huh? Yes. I'm a pureblood vampire. An alpha vampire, which means I'm way more badass than most suckers. Drop me on my head from five stories up. I'm ready for round 2 in three minutes. I've got random scars all over my body from work, but they usually fade in about a month, so I'm fine. My husband will get on my case if I'm being too reckless though He's a doctor, so, you know, it's kind of his business to make sure I'm healthy. I work as a Fallen Star; specific rank is Comet. We go solve the urgent, really dangerous situations, like when someone's threatening to blow up a building. Having awesome healing powers helps Oh! and I can easily shift in and out of the alternate vampiric form; kukudhi form My skin becomes gray and tough as dragon leather, and I get larger and stronger. I've only gone full kukudhi once or twice though It's SUPER exhausting, and I was sore for the next few days. But I do it often enough with my arms that it doesn't bother me much

  I'm happily married with four kids   but none of them are biologically mine Tim and Tom are my husband's kids from a previous marriage. (His late wife died after giving birth to them.) Venus is my little cousin. My aunt and uncle died when she was four, so being her amma*, I got custody. We don't really act like mother and daughter though; more like sisters. She says she doesn't want a new mom, which I respect. Chloris isn't related to anyone. She was our foster daughter for a little while, then we adopted her. I'd like to actually get pregnant at some point, but I'll wait until the kids we have now are grown and gone. I worry about weird sibling rivalries... Plus, it'll give me time to fine-tune my parenting skills

  As many of you noticed, I never drink directly from the source. About 90% of my diet is animal blood, but it just doesn't quite compare to human blood, so the other 10% of the time, I treat myself. The reason why... has to do with my mom. Riona Mattock is perhaps the most prolific serial killer in Abaddonian history, killing and eating who-knows-how-many humans for about half a century. See, vampires DON'T kill. As in, if you killed a human and it WASN'T in self-defense, YOU are put to death. The High Elder CANNOT and DOES NOT risk exposure of our kind. We only take what we need from humans and move on.

  Now, there's vampires that have addictive tendencies   They get a little too caught up in the moment and will unintentionally kill the human they're feeding from. It's similar to humans that don't know how to limit themselves when drinking alcohol, and get totally sloshed. That was a problem my mother had. I know there's the whole nature-vs-nurture thing, but I don't want to risk it, so I never feed from the source. I just carry a blood extraction kit and drink from it like a juice box Well, take that back... I fed from the source a couple times in my life, but it was only in emergency situations. I still never killed anyone.

For that reason, I don't like being associated with my mother AT ALL~. Unfortunately, I look A LOT like her. That's why I took my husband's name in marriage. (In Abaddon, the man takes the woman's name.) Now when I interact with people, they think it's a just funny coincidence I hate it when people write books about my mother, because the ending is usually something along the lines of: "THIS is why nonhumans should go back to being second-class citizens. They can't be trusted." It's like: "Thanks, Mom! You made our entire race look bad!"
