Description
This is my submission for 's contest. This is his OC Keyana, a terrorist/thief in the X-comicz universe. She is one cool cat, I loved drawing her.I have depicted her hunting down a poor victim inside an old train station.
I drew her traditionally, scanned her in and colored the whole thing digitally. I did have to change the design of some things a bit because I couldn't see them in detail in the refs provided, I hope they are not too different to be acceptable.

Awesome work Vass! And again, you color and render characters so well that this doesnt even look the same as the lineart you showed me! VEry beautifully done! And you made the background work too!
Its cool how it tells a story but the window behind her makes her look like she's in a painting which puts the focus directly into her! Very nice job! Awesome!

Yeah I did, it's great and I feel for you lol! I also saw something else though.. Akins seems to comment with 'nice' to entries that don't seem to be very skilled or interesting. And that's what he said about mine. Only difference is that mine was in capitals LOL

As for that entry, the sharks were ALL awesome but the character wasnt TBH. And in the character description, talking or controlling sharks is not a part of his capabilities. So, i still got a chance. hehehe

Well on some people's work he said he's speechless etc. LOL I got criticised quite a bit, every person sees different things wrong with my work, must be really bad lol.
I always check out the contest creator's comments on the submitted work, it tells me a lot about it.

i juz checked on it and yeah, you did get some criticisms but not that heavy though. 
I think i wouldve gotten a lot of criticisms as well but i always got these reasons to get me off the hook and i guess people are getting tired of giving crits. LOL.

Awww, cmon Vass.... dont be too hard on yourself k? Ive known you for what? half a year or so? You've improved leaps and bounds since then! Maybe its juz that the subject matter is a bit new to you and you havent adapted to the feel of it... (superhero comics). I mean, your artwork is beautiful, no question about it. Maybe comic book fans expect something familiar to comic books.
Like me, im a capable artist but to ask me to do something like the character profiles you did for the game or the costumes for the movie? i would probably get lots (if not all) of negative comments too.
Dont let this get you down k? treat it as a challenge. We both have a lot to learn and we'll get there.

I actually don't have the mental strength right now to elaborate on that lol. I realise my general mental state isn't helping me. My general life at the moment is at a bit of a low so it affects everything I do so I have to wait for it to get better before I start liking my work again. Thanks for your support mate.

Nice, I like. The textures in the concrete and bricks look very authentic. Coloring on the leather, hair, and skin look great as well. The freeze-frame slug and vapor trail are a cool touch. The only area I'd offer advice on is the pose: Generally, when firing a pistol, the shooting arm is naturally held straight and locked at the elbow.
Don't get me wrong, I way dig it. Nice work.

Well, I'm no expert on firearms lol. It's not my style of work tbh. I thought with my puny brain that if she's running at maximum speed, she can't be all straight like an arrow when shooting, that it would normally be a far less accurate shot. But yeah that'd mean she'd shoot and hope LOL! Also, when I drew the lineart I was not planning on making her fire the gun. She was just running with it at the ready. Like I said, because I don't know and have to speculate, a lot can go wrong. Ah well, next time! Thanks a lot for your crit!

Your welcome, and don't get me wrong, I doubt there's very many people that'd bother with such a detail. I love helpful critiques of my own work and so usually try to offer small bits of advice to people that I watch. Firearms just happen to be a subject near and dear to me, hopefully it was helpful. Its a great work, and I also meant to compliment you on the glass window and the lighting coming through it as well.
