::EDIT:: Added some more shadows... Previous version: [link] [It's a HUGE file btw]I'm actually kinda proud of this one :] It came out as I wanted it to... too bad I couldn't think of a decent background ¬¬ ... Or a believable light source...
Ok, so it's got next to no artistic value but it was fun to make xD And I think there was some deep, awesome meaning behind it but I forgot ._.
Critique would be VERY appreciated e.e Even though it's "finished" I wouldn't mind tweaking it a little... or a lot xD

Nice! Great job on colouring the skin. with all the orange, pink and purple-ish tones
if you want a little bit of advice on it, I'd suggest to make the hair a little less "solid bulk" and try to merge it more with the background. I mean, a hair flowing with the wind as this is should let one see traces of the sky in between, and have a bit more of wilderness. So even when the hair strands are nicely rendered here, it'd be good to keep in mind that the sky on the rear should be visible in some parts. Oh btw, congrats on the face! The nose looks awesome, and the lips and the eye as well <3

I totally dig this piece. The purple-ish skin tone looks great in front of that dirty gray-green background. The hair has wonderful flow, and the shadows are very believable.
Don't worry so much about a "believable" light source, it's a great piece of art. And as the old saying goes, "learn the rules so you can break them properly."
If I had to critique anything, I'd suggest putting some highlights in the upper lip, it appears a little more "flat" than the lower lip.

Yeah, when viewed up close, it gives the lip a more rounded feel.
I like the way you tightened things up, the face, hair, and skull look fantastic.
Though I must admit, I miss the freckles.

Maybe it's the angle... I'm not sure. I'll check though I guess, working on a picture a while after you're "done" with it can give a new perspective.

Hmm...I feel like the shadow under her chin is too dark compared to the other shadows on her body...maybe you darken some of the shadows on her body?
and the curve of her ribs right under her breasts sticks out too much (reminds me of ball jointed dolls), she might look better without it, or maybe if it were less prominent...
Overall, this looks great- love the mood and love her face

Yeah, I'd kinda half-assed the body because I was sick of looking at that picture, but I guess the extra time was worth it :]

I'm lazy... but I'm also obsessive. Like. Really obsessive... :I So I always end up going back to work on my stuff and I can never be happy with it... so I don't really choose where I leave it at, it's just a matter of when my laziness finally overcomes the perfectionist freak that I turn into xD

And now that I'm "finished" with this... And have NOT been looking at it for the past five hours or so- I think the lips have a pretty heavy influence from *fdasuarez 's work xD I can't decide if that's a good or a bad thing ._.,,
That problem seems to be pretty damn common... And maybe I could've put something like a forest or a cave wall behind her but... I started this at like 2 am, so... That means I can imagine isolated characters OR just an empty scene... but not a "complete" painting... xD It's kinda weird.
