Well, the bad ones haven't dealt with the good ones just yet either. Good is alive and well. So we must be doing something right.

This is so true, and so disgustingly sad.

Some people are very proud of our violent history. We can destroy all these things but one. can you guess?

I hate when people say it like this. Sure, humanity has many faults, but it's slowly improving towards a bright future, and like *UEY-S* said, we're still primitive. You can't give up on a one year old child for it breaking a pot, the same is with humanity. We learn, and we grow, we learn to adapt, and we learn to explore, using the immense curiosity we have.

Think of it like this. When we get to comfortable, we begin looking for small faults, and tries to correct them, even-though it turns out faulty in the end, but when something big needs to be done, humanity has reached above all other species on this planet, and I don't doubt for a second, on other planets as well. We have come so far since our beginning, and we evolve each day.

Humanity will prevail, as one, in the end. I will never doubt that.

That link is epic and what he says is very true.

But I still believe we will cause our own demise. We seem to have a glorious way of fucking ourselves over. Individually humans have the ability to destroy lives for the most ridiculous reasons and groups of people will always have meaningless differences that result into conflict. It's the way we are. We act all civilized but that's because we're kept in line with rules so obvious they shouldn't even have to be enforced. A simple example of this self-inflicted misery is money. We created it. We 'invented' money to express posession and value. We cling on to it, our whole life revolves around money and obtaining it. Money doesn't buy you happiness, but it buys you everything you need to be happy. And people will do anything, literally anything for money. I'm not saying we should give up on money, we need it. But we can't deny that materialism (which is basically a form of power, and boy do we like power) destroys as much as it helps lives. I know I sound grim, and I'm not at all a fatalistic person. People can be great but deep down we're monsters. Everything has to come to an end and I believe we will be our own end.

Still, I think it's nice that there are people still believing in humanity. I hope you'll all prove me wrong.

I agree on almost everything you just said. Deep down we are animals, and it shall be a while before most of society stops being so childish and ignorant. Zh3sh1re is right, you can't blame a 1-year old for breaking a pot, just like you can't blame a primitive race, such as ourselves, for damaging the world. Especially since we are repopulating faster than we can solve our problems, with 7 billion members, different rules of governing continents, and dependence on other countries for financial aid and product production, the majority of the population not very well educated, and most sane people not looking much further than their next meal, wouldn't you say we are doing quite well?

We are just still a very primate society. We have not learned how to live in unity due to our constant separation of each other. See the world and every person as your family, as yourself, as one.. and you will not rape, kill, hurt, enslave, or torture yourself

silster In reply to UEY-S [2012-01-16 13:42:57 +0000 UTC]

Well that's where the problem lies. Even if we would overcome all the differences and belong to the same ideal, we'd still be killing eachother because we're a bunch of jealous, power hungry, frustrated, selfish idiots.

Beings will be killing each other as long as the world is separated and as long as we they think primitively. Look into raising your consciousness to understanding that All is One and One is All and you will see why there would be nothing to be frustrated over, nothing to be jealous over. I don't expect you to understand this now because most of our world's fundamental structures are built on primitive perspectives, thus, we keep killing each other and feel the need to hoard from others. But if you are interested, anyone is able to raise their consciousness

Why wouldn't I understand? The whole consciousness thing is nothing but obvious and the fact that there are workshops to become more conscious only proves my point. People are primitive beings. If some caveman didn't realise that he could kill his hunters with a pointy rock, we wouldn't be here. Our survival is based on killing what's trying to kill us. Being conscious about it won't change anything to that.
In fact, being more conscious can backfire, as someone who's a little more conscious might think he's better than someone else. Those workshops are the perfect example, someone is making a shitload of money by telling people obvious and basic principles of thinking. It's rather digusting and hypocrite to try to cure the world with greed.

Also your 'All is One and One is All' with the world as all and me as one just means we are a part of everything. We are a part of the world, this universe. Obvious, again, since we're in it. It doesn't mean we're the same. We are all different, but with enough consiousness we can look past those differences. We CAN all live together. But that consciousness won't change human nature and its flaws.

One more point, if not for raising the consciousness of the masses, to realise that this way of life if harming us and what's around us. To stop and live in unity. What do you think WOULD save the world? Because no matter what item, power or saviour you give to the old mind.. it's actions will continue to follow the same path of hoarding, elevating & degrading & living for profit no matter the costs. What WILL save the world is you, me and everyone else following actions of peace & unity.

UEY-S In reply to silster [2012-01-29 18:54:48 +0000 UTC]

Most people do think primitively now. Agreed.

"Our survival is based on killing what's trying to kill us". Killing/beating/winning/staying ahead. That is indeed what one perceives they need to do to survive in a society built on primitive perspectives. That is what most of the human societies are now doing.

"In fact, being more conscious can backfire, as someone who's a little more conscious might think he's better than someone else." A more conscious mind does not judge & would never think they are "better". A more conscious mind understands that no being is better/holier/more valuable than another. Everyone & everything is of equal importance. All beings are simply at their different stages of their paths of awareness. There is nothing "bad" about being at the early stage. For example, there is nothing bad about being 2 years old over 30 years old... they are simply different stages. One must be 2 and 3 and so on to get to 30. Please don't mix this with some older people thinking they are better than younger ones.. a lower/higher conscious mind will see the world as it does, not based on age.

"If some caveman didn't realise that he could kill his hunters with a pointy rock, we wouldn't be here". Do you see lions or ANY other hunters/predators going out and killing EVERYTHING around them? Do you see lions laying waste to a whole herd of gazelles? They only take what is needed, and leave the herd alone, life goes on for both species. A group of Humans would not be wiped out in an attack(s) just like any other species wouldn't. Humans go out and knowingly exterminate all, often to the point of extinction. Why? because those humans of the lower consciousness see themselves better/holier/more valuable over ALL Nature. Profit no matter the cost of others.

The link I provided does not ask you to buy or purchase anything, it simply provides knowledge, for free. There are many more links to free knowledge like this. You don't have to pay a cent, there are plenty of books on this subject that are free to download, I could find a link if you like? If you however, feel like getting the books on paper, paying for the book being made is fair game don't you think?

Of course, you are indeed part of the universe, part of the One in All and All in One We are of the same essence as what the starts are made of, of what the air is made of, the water, the plants, the animals, the insects, the sun, the universe. We are all of the same essence living out our individual lives and paths. Nothing wrong with being an individual, in fact there is nothing else to do in life, other than figuring out Who You Want to be and then Being Who You Want To Be. We are all unique and beautiful in one way or another, but we are all of equal value to this universe, the One whole.

Higher conciseness sees the unity and does not passively harm another being. It knows harming one is harming yourself in the long run. Higher conciseness helps and provides for the other (and itself of course) because it knows that helping another, is helping yourself. I hope this clears a few things up. As I said, I understand that it can be challenging to see the whole picture in the begging. It was for me too, but I've read many helpful books for the past 2 years. Expanding the mind has been my hobby.

Have a good day mate. I wish you the best, for you are a part of me and this beautiful universe
