("I'll wait as close by as I can, and I'll be the first thing you see when you leave that room Leah, I swear.....") His words echoed in her head as she walked slowly behind Nessa into a very large dark room. Nessa didn't look back at her, every bit of warmth that had been in her was now no where to be found. She seemed cold, and when she spoke, even colder.
"You come over here, I have to remove those bandages."
Leah listened, but still shook as she walked, trying to see what was around her in the darkness.
She flinched as Nessa took the blood soaked bandages off of the still open part of her remaining piece of arm.
Nessa had changed out of her usual uniform and now wore a simple dark blue tanktop and her uniform pants. Leah had changed into a shirt to match her light aqua pants.
Leah stood still as the alchemist drew a large and complicated transmutation circle on the ground.
The injured girl surveyed the room once more, now that her eyes had adjusted better to the dark. She noticed a large basin to one side, it was probobly filled with the blood of Marik and Tsume, and would soon become her new arm. She shuddered.
"Alright, everything's ready. Come over here." Again, Nessa's voice was cold as stone.
Leah nodded and walked into the middle of the circle. The alchemist had brought over the basin and with her bare hands started covering Leah's remaining arm in blood, along with her own hands. She also scattered blood along the lines of her circle.
Leah knew that if she wanted any last words in before this, now was her only chance.
"N...Nessa...?" She managed to tremble out.
Nessa nodded to show she was listening, all the while pouring blood around the floor.
"Will... Will this hurt? C...Can I die from this...?"
Nessa stood, and spoke with her eyes closed, still pouring the last of the blood around the two of them. "You won't die."
"A...And the pain...?"
Nessa's eyes opened sharply, and she stared at Leah, who felt as if a knife of ice had just gone through her.
"You will never in your life experience such a flesh ripping pain that could ever measure up to this one." Nessa said all of this with such ease, as if not even worried about it.
Before Leah could ask any other question, Nessa was standing right in front of her, with her hands on Leah's open wound.
"NESSA WAIT!" Screamed Leah, but it was too late. There was a loud clapping sound that echoed through the room.
Nessa stared down into thin air as an arm began to take shape. Blood splattered all over her but she didn't take her eyes off of her objective even though one of her best friends was screaming her lungs out.
Leah lost her mind.
Her head rushed, her every nerve screamed out in a feeling so unbelievable she couldn't tell if it was pain. Lights blinded her as they consumed her body making her one with them, all the while seeing her entire life in the back of her shattering mind. She heard screaming, loud and clear, born of fear, or perhaps of pain. Soon it became so loud, it seemed to be coming from the center of her head until it burst from her mouth and was taken by the light.
And then it all stopped.
"P...Please be there......." She begged whatever was around her to see his eyes.....
"One... Last...Time................."
