Description
Here's my version of Ahadi, King of Pride Rock, father of Mufasa. Canon doesn't have too many light-furred males, but now that I've created one I'm wondering if there's a good reason for that, because he looks kind of drab.

In this backstory, Ahadi married Uru when she was already pregnant with Taka. He did his best to raise the cub like his own son, with one qualifier: Taka had no royal blood of his own and couldn't be named as heir. Ahadi struggled with this decision all his life, especially as Taka grew up resentful and jealous (sarcastically calling Mufasa "big brother" was just the beginning), but ultimately his only allowance was that Taka would be next in the line of succession after Mufasa's cubs.

Ahadi's sense of duty and honor is very strong, and he can be seen as overly serious, although never unkind. Uru felt intimidated by his pensive nature at first, but once she learned how to coax a laugh out of him, they fell for each other and remained a devoted couple all their lives.
