Moving into the next generation, and much to my surprise, I kind of like how this one came out. I chose to draw Haji at this age instead of adulthood because this is how I picture him, but also, I've always had a thing for male lions at this stage of maneliness. They're so scruffy and cute.

Haji is the son of Kovu and Kiara. His twin sister Hakima was the one who was presented as heir, being a few minutes older, but the matter still hasn't been fully settled. Haji isn't sure whether he would rather be the king or the leader of the Lion Guard, and he often daydreams about running off to join the Night Pride. However, he's devoted to his family, makes friends easily, and learns quickly. He has adventures in store.
