A little gift for ;3; I wish to chat with you some time, omg we haven't done this for ages! Miss some randomish talk :0 Also still need to reply in comments LOL I always keep your answers for a few months hahaSo, here is Scorpius! I don't know if this design is still updated and normal * hope so * but I still find it HELLA cool and I wanted to draw him for a few years now I think...FINALLY I did it YAY
! I must say I really enjoyed working with traditional media in my holidays break :3 Now back to commissions and stuff, I have a lot of to do~ Used watercolors + white guasche(?) for this. That red and dark-red were I bit challenging to draw differently haha, hope it looks good. And yes, " oh, look at this fancy nail-color I did " pose ... Cause it's badass looking just till you understand all that nail-stuff XD Now sleep with it BWUHAHAHAH

Holy moly ;_; !!...
It’s been FOREVER since I’ve seen this guy and it makes me kinda emotional to see he is still loved <3... I haven’t drawn him for ages as I ran into a ‘writers block’ for his story and still kind of am puzzled as of what I want his story to be :,) But it doesn’t mean I don’t love him anymore.. it’s just so great to see him again AAAAH ;^;
I first thought it was a digital painting with a traditional media look/textures but then I saw the category and your description and kind of went blanc with awe, this is wickedly awesome ;-; ! You’re very skilled with watercolors/guache to get in all his colors and all their highlights/shades spot on like that. Goodness.. I can only imagine how difficult it is without the handy good old color picker xD
I freaking adore all the small highlight details on his scales and how the gradients looks on them with the blues and greens <3 It feels so 3-Dimensional ! I think it’s also because you did an awesome job on fading out the colors a bit on his wing, mane and the feather behind his arm ;u; It looks really awesome! I have a feeling like he’s fading into the ominous green glow of some sort of foggy weather <3 And you have a great way of showing the difference in ‘material’ if you know what I mean, like you can almost imagine how each scale, skin and fur feels like by the way they are textured and shaded here c:
And those feathers/fur/hands! I really like the type of red you used for them and how we can clearly see the difference between the red on his horns and the feathers etc ;u; All those details.. DEM DETAILS. I am seriously scanning the whole drawing top to bottom over and over xD It really makes me nostalgic as well.. I used to work so much with watercolors I don’t even know if I can still do it. Not as good as you I’m sure.. this is insanely awesome hahaha XD
His design didn’t change one bit from the reference he has now. At most, if I will re-do his ref only my style of drawing him and maybe my interpretation of his colors will be a bit different but his design in feathers/scales etc all stay the same : D I wanted to re-do Daniel and Shin’s ref first before getting to my other characters haha.
I just… well I ran out of words ;u;..
I’m glad you enjoyed working with the good old tools again during your holiday. I know we haven’t spoken for a long time but it’s really me to blame since I suck at keeping up with conversations lately and keeping in-contact with people in general ;-;… I do miss our little silly conversations in the notes/comments as well. I’m sure that time’ll come again though as things will calm down for me as well ;u; It’s perfectly fine if you take your time for replying though haha, my comments are insanely long anyway so I understand X,D
But back to the drawing… you really did surprise me big time here. Especially since I thought it was kind of my turn with your birthday nearing XD I am thinking about drawing sean for you this time, I have drawn your other characters already but I didn’t get to draw Sean yet ;u; Speaking of him.. what is his most updated reference to date c: ?

Omg I clearly know that feeling XD I am slowly getting back to Heliodoro and everybody else, since lately I drew a lot of fire-clans and everything connected with hau and Jeck...UHHH tired from them a bit haha.
Actually I feel much more comfy with such detailed works in traditional tbh x) I find hard to do some complicated shadings ( sunsets'rises, contrasted shades etc. ) in traditionals, but with some "flat" shading like this...Well, for me it's much faster to do all small details on real piece of paper x) All blending and mixing is going just how it should, and you don't need any special tools XD It's 15 sm height btw if you wonder :3 Scanitto 2018-01-09 003 < dat scan with no edits. Because I actually edit my scans a lot to get colors right XD
And thank you! You know, I just adore that "goal" to make everything looks in character and different - fur, scales and different materials and everything XD I am also struggling a lot with my anatomy knowedge - I would like to be able feel free with different body types and be able to draw more different shapes of animals :3 Wonder how you will make his new ref, I think you will make his design much more " smooth" if you know...You improved your anatomy skills and I think his reference would look much easier to understand 
Well, traditional media is all about practise and I think your hands still remember *the shi..KM * right things! Just maybe around 2 or 3 drawings and you'll be all back into traditional
Actually, I am not really chatty nowadays as well, and I guess with our 1 (or 2?) hour difference it will be a little hard. Dunno. I guess, maybe, only if in the evening, if you would be online when I am going home from university or late evening, closer to night thing XD Cause I tend to work "offline" at home and chat only in that 2 hour space from home to Moscow :'D It's really fun cause I can chat with people from absolutely other timezone, I am online from 6 or 7 am, while they having some dinner lol. But I think when I will reply to your comments in this week, we will have some fun moments there XD
OMG Sean :0 He would turn freaking badass in your style I think XD Well, yeah, his design/colors haven't changed at all, maybe some anatomy details,

these drawings still looks updated. His reference is almost right in proportions- long and thin legs, pretty long body...I guess it's like a horse proportion thing. Long tail, with feathers at the end like Sho's one. Only this that really pops in his ref is a little big head. And well, his head... I actually feel much in common with haku face from Spirited away 
And somehow more reptile like fingers, but in fur :3
for BG there may be foggy mountains in the sea or Chinese like buildings ( he is wing god, so Sho's landscapes may be there ). So yeah, feel calm with his design, it's not like Zarsha's one

I feel the need to expand my list of characters as well next to drawing my other ones xD So that all this written info I have of new characters actually become drawings/new refs haha. Daniel and Shinri’s world still feel empty without all the work I still have to do fort heir worlds, mythology, other characters : P We still need that longer day.
Haha yeah you have got a point there about the blending and all those usually digital settings just happen naturally XD I have been making so many brushes over the past year to find that natural feel the traditional tools have. But nothing will get quite as close xD I do have this one brush in Sai that won’t require me to switch between blending and painting and it’s the fastest tool for me right now like an all-in-one-tool.. but still not quite like a real painting brush haha.
It’s only 15 cm ? : O Woah that’s smoolll xD Heck that makes me admire all those details even more. I would get cramp working that small haha. My scanner does hate colors as well so I feel you there (,:
Same here, I know I should vary more with animals, dinosaurs, dragons, humans but I end up being lazy and draw 80% canid looking creatures in the end : x I HAVE to change it though, fort he sake of being able to build my characters worlds more as they have all kinds of creatures with different anatomy xD He will look less ‘fragmented’ and will indeed look more smooth in style and design c: If I have to estimate it telling from what my cellshading looks right now / my way of drawing forms : P
Dragons and ALL THEIR SCALES. They definitely are hard to do and harder to redraw xD I do hope to find a way to make it easier to draw him (,: I always wonder how these dragon artists on deviantArt manage to redraw their characters.
I am usually online as well as almost 80% of people I know are asleep lol. And when they wake up I am already far away in dream-land xD I hardly get to do a lot of chatting during workdays (for me is Monday to Thursday.. sometimes also Friday. Since I don’t go to school anymore I got less and less social alltogether actually xD Just so much responsibilities that suck up time and energy. And being social has never been one of my talents : x … I can imagine that with the long traveling you get that nice bit of free time and quiet to chat with people or catch up with other messages. I sometimes wish earth didn’t have these annoying time zones XD And everyone would just live in the same time haha.

Hah well at least your drawings looks more full and conceptual than mine ( I think XD ). Huh, actually wondered always what do you feel about my storyline drawings ( there aren't much, also, there are mostly short emotional stories in arts * like potraits etc.* but still.. hmm XD )?

Lol yes, I feel I need to do my species more varied as well, actually I am developing my character world and species, it ends up that "canine" race is only Shaia aka fire clan. Water is more about foxes - ferrets and wind goes for cats.. still no much place for highly exotic animals, but I think I will find a place for them in future as well! I still laugh how everything that people have as pets are gryphons there. BASICALLY. Any home cat/dog/horse/cow is something like gryphin thingy XDXDXD
Yeeeeeeehhhh. Ya know, browsing DA, you always can end up in that "browse more like this" category, where all that reptile-super realistic-anatomy right people collected, with their smooth linearts, showing all reptile muscles, scales and skins...UGH HOW YOU DO DAT 0A0 ! It's not a 1 person thing, there are definetly a lot of such cool artists! Sadly not all of them are popular, ugh.
Uh well... I am actually mooostly online any evening, so, IF you will feel about chatting, you can just write around 2 or 3 hours before chat or anything.. HEH.

Not sure if it helps in any case X'D ! You can play around his muscles I thing...But yeah, his front part/chest looks like horse one for sure! and same about his bidy and back legs I guess. I feel I maybe even will use your drawing after as a base for a ref, since I am still not 100% sure about how I imagine him right
