The user, upon blinking, can change what they see to be able to see the infrared energy of everything around them. They are able to detect even the smallest changes in temperature, and may manipulate the amount of infrared energy in a source by staring. They can add or subtract the energy from the source, making an object colder or hotter using the infrared energy. The quirk only allows them to get temperatures as high as 350°F (About 176°C) or as low as 0°F (About -17°C) with practice. It can take minutes to reach the peak temperatures, and takes longer to make things colder than to make things hotter. If the user isn't completely focused, it can take as long as five to ten minutes of staring to reach peak temperatures, and if completely focused it can be as short as one to two minutes.

Limitations:
- Extended use can lead to dizziness and headaches, and switching between the two visions too much can cause eye strain. Vision may become spotty or blurred after extended use.
- Manipulation of infrared radiation can only happen by staring, while infrared sight is activated, and the object in question must be stared at for a certain amount of time before manipulation can occur, depending on the size of the object.
- Moving objects are harder to focus on, and in turn, harder to manipulate the infrared energy of. The user may only focus on one point at a time for the manipulation to work.
- To manipulate temperature, they must contribute their own body temperature to the mix, raising their body temperature to lower temperatures and lowering their body temperature to raise temperatures. They cannot do one after the other, and have to regain their regular temperature before manipulating again. The more they manipulated the temperature, the longer it takes to regain it.

While on the surface they may seem short-sighted or stupid in some respects, Ji-Woo is very resourceful and adaptable when it comes down to it. They’re intelligent, this often being overshadowed by other points of their personality, and knows how to get things done. They know how to manage resources and time, and can come up with brilliant plans when given the chance to. Though it may seem like they don’t, Ji-Woo does care deeply for those around them, even if they believe that person is foolish or insufferable.

Oftentimes, Ji-Woo considers rules and the like last, and sometimes not at all, if they have a certain goal in mind. They find getting close to people moderately uncomfortable, for a few different reasons, and strays away from emotional or personal things very quickly, mostly due to their inexpertise at dealing with them. Ji-Woo says what they think more often than not, whether or not it’s a good time for their opinion. Very erratic most of the time, they will do whatever they’re in the mood for, and is hard to pin down when it comes to what they’re thinking or doing.

One thing about them is that they like to stir up trouble, mostly just aiming to make people angry, or simply to poke fun. However, they will very rarely face the trouble they get into for it, usually either making it worse through words or backing down when confronted physically. Ji-Woo is more likely to run their mouth than face their own damage, and may even continue to run their mouth even after being backed into a corner. They hate waiting, and will grow impatient rather quickly the more they have to wait, and are also rather hard headed. It’s difficult to get Ji-Woo to back down from something once they’re all for it, sometimes just for the sake of proving whatever their point was.

History:
Born to two loving parents, Ji-Woo had discovered their quirk early on purely due to the nature of their quirk. As they grew older, they’d use their quirk very frequently, and it became a problem at school, and as such, Ji-Woo was pulled out for a while to learn to control their quirk. This sparked a petty kind of hatred for their parents, and it only worsened the later they got in life. They went back to regular schooling around the time their sister was born and got involved with awful people along the way, which led to a lot of defiance to their parents. They ran away from home several times over the school years, always ending up back home but acting simply to scare them. It was when they finished their final years of school that they got involved with more dangerous people. Being the instigator that they are, this eventually landed them in deep trouble when they were taken by a group they’d managed to anger, held for ransom.

It was by help of a pro-hero that they were able to escape, and Ji-Woo idolized this hero for what they’d done for them. From here, Ji-Woo gained a new goal; to become a hero. They started to study for hero work, looking into intern opportunities and even schools to go to. The next few years were spent working towards meeting requirements for Schuyler University. The dream was almost short-lived, when they met the hero that saved them and it turned out they’d only done what they did not because they cared, but for the fame. From there, Ji-Woo almost quit everything they’d worked towards, but after an extended period of thought, they decided to go through with it, mostly out of spite.

What started as spite soon turned to a genuine goal once more, as when they moved to the US to be closer to the school, they saved a passerby from a robbery when they happened to be in the area. It was a quick encounter, but the thankfulness of the individual they saved was something that managed to change the direction of their heart, and within the year, they tried for Schuyler University, landing it in not long after.
