Description
Labyrinth Movie The Fire Gang. There are five members, in the fire gang, but I ran out of room on my A3 layout pad. Also drawing and coloring four was a mayor task in its self.
I really wanted to do them justice as they are my favorite characters in the movie. Anything simple wouldn't have captured who and what they are

I love he Fire Gang, they are the quintessential fairy creatures . Amusing and playful but with distinct element of madness and menace to their antics and song.

I agree you sort of get the madness vibe, when they try to pull of Sarah's head and look confused as to why it won't come off.

Do they want to shake their booties for you?
Where are their females?...I love female animals.
1 female Fiery would totally be adorable.

I haven't commented this earlier? Well let's do it now.
Labyrinth... It has been so long when I watched it that I don't recall these fellows anymore. But you have drawed them nicely. Especially their furs are good looking.
Maybe I should try to get Labyrinth in my hands and watch it. For the nostalgia...

I couldn't agree more with you there, I think its just that the characters are all so memorable, as was Sarah's journey though the Labyrinth.

Yes, the story itΒ΄s just great and original. And so are the characters, the entire labyrinth and the music!.
I love it!, I used to watch it like all the time when I was a child. Really makes me wanna see it again now that I saw your painting!

Great to see that my pic, brings back all the good childhood memories
I think all the Jim Henson films had a real magic to them. CGI may be good eye candy but old fashion puppetry has real heart in my view.

YouΒ΄re right. ThereΒ΄s some kind of magic in those films. You know?, "The Dark Crystal" is another favorite.
ItΒ΄s like I said before, you can never get bored of these movies.
And though you see the movie after a lot of time you can still find the sparkle in it that made you adore it the first time.

I must be the only girl in the world who hasn't seen Labyrinth, but the sense of fun and movement in this is great.
I do have one suggestion, though...
Whenever you include grass in your images, you tend to use the same grass brushes over and over. Why not try making your own grass brushes, or do like Linda Bergkvist and simply draw everything in with free strokes? It would add a sense of spontaneity and realism that could spice things up a bit.

You must see Labyrinth its a great movie
Again I agree with you I have used the same old strokes, and I do intend to change that now. As it causing me to limit myself, and not move forward creativivly.
I guess with this I was just been flexing my hands as I've not been doing illustation for a while and I needed something to get me back on track.
