If you will google Kaiji and see the character model, that's how my characters used to look on a sheet of paper XD
But seriously try practicing easy stuff until you capable of drawing them without inspiration or looking at them (for example, face, body, hands, feet, etc.)

This is precious, the color palette that you choose goes great with it, it kinda gives a feeling of serenity; also, i love the way that the eyes stand out with that glowing green color.

I'm glad that you like the color palette. I usually prefer this kinda style to my drawings, instead of using the usual colors.
It kind of gives a brief description of a character's personality.
Ironically, when I was choosing the color palette I wondered if I should use her hair color (which is coral brown) or not,
I googled color symbolism and sure enough, what her hair color meant was -> creativity and affection.
