Description DDLC Conversion - Manga GALLERY --> www.deviantart.com/silverpenci…

This was an old project that I started way back in 2019, after reading TheReader1118's fanfiction, DDLC: Our Reality. Since then, my time and scheduled has been flooded with trying to find an internship, learn while working in order to obtain a stable position. And since then, my hopes and ideas for this simple fanfiction were stopped by the complications and life problems that entered in my life and in the end, I couldn't see a way to finish it.
If you have followed me on DeviantArt for a long time, this is a repetitive statement and I regret for only making excuses rather than progress and results.

Because Monika's birthday is tomorrow, I wanted to share with you guys some of the sketches/pages that I made for this story and I will be uploading in a separate gallery for whoever wants to see them.

It will not be a short summary as I would like it to be, but I'll try to present all of the relevant plot point about my DDLC Conversion.

*THE PLOT*
The story follows Stephen Dante, a third year college student that played DDLC and has become invested in it's story, characters and psychological horror elements. After completing the game, he only felt grief and anguish for making a 'grave mistake' during the game.

The next morning he wakes up in a bedroom and he has no idea where he is or what has gone before. After he opens the door, willing to escape, he sees he is trapped inside a dark space with floating houses and shapeless objects. He hears a feminine voice and he wakes up yet again in the same bed inside the same bedroom, only this time, the black space has been replaced with a corridor inside 2 story house. After checking every entry inside the house, he realizes is the only person in the house and finds a school uniform.
The school uniform is the starting point where he is beginning where is and what is going on -> he got transported into a three dimensional version world of the visual novel he recently played. He rushes to meet all the DDLC members (Sayori, Yuri, Natsuki, Monika) and even MC.
Speaking of MC, he's still not a member of the literature club, but becomes involved with Stephen later on in the story, as he is meddling in Sayori's life and tries to help her overcome her depression.

The funny thing in the beginning of the story is that Stephen believes he is the main character in his own story and everything should follow the same events of the story in the visual novel, if he were in MC's place, but because he is a secondary character he already disrupts the flow of the story.

Because of the random events and characters that are appearing in his way, from being confident, he becomes unsure of his actions, so he decides with a heavy heart to ask for Monika's help in order to help the girls to overcome their demons. BUT, unfortunately for him, Monika is also confused on the events taking place and mad on the PLAYER for deleting her. Stephen leaves a poem for Monika to read and let her know "he has arrived", but she only laughs at Stephen's poem and dismisses his intentions to meet her because he didn't have the courage to face her.

Later on, he finds out why he was brought into this world - a woman by the name of Libitina decided to mock Stephen's existence inside the world and challenges him to live a normal life inside this artificial world on a few conditions:
1. he would receive access to the console, only to prevent Monika from misusing it.
2. if he would ever delete "a person", the world will be deleted, and "everything will shut down".
So whatever he wants to do inside that world and Libitina let's him do so, it's permitted only after Libitina present Stephen his "choices", just like in the visual novel, but these events might happen frequently, so he has to make his choice carefully, just like playing chess.
(For example: If Libitina wants Stephen to go LEFT or RIGHT, Stephen might choose either of them, but then he can decided at some point to try the opposite direction, but Libitina sets a sequence of choices for him to make and he must decide a pattern, kinda like X-COM).

There were supposed to be 5 arcs, in which I wanted to explore each characters' flaws and perks in a "psichological" way of telling stories, especially in mangas.
The first arc was supposed to have plot points:
1. Stephen challenging Monika to save the other members of the club until the day of the festival, and pretending he is not the PLAYER.
2. Finding alies -> MC sorta trusts Stephen to help Sayori, Natsuki and Yuri, but not Monika.
3. Stephen joining the Gaming Club to supervise the Literature Club.
4. Introduce the Natsuki's bully -> Alec.
5. Revealing to Monika the truth on the day of the festival.
6. Make Alec the main villain of the first arc.
7. The final battle against Alec.

Up until making Alec the main villain, I wanted to also take the time to make Stephen struggle and learn he is not dealing with JUST CHARACTERS IN A GAME, but with ACTUAL FLESHED OUT PEOPLE -> making his mission to save the dokis more difficult. He couldn't TALK NO JUTSU his way out of the girls' real problems.
The only one I wanted to fully save in this first arc was Sayori, but with a lot more time invested on analysing her depression problem and I wanted to feel more realistic that it would take 2 or more individuals (mainly MC and Stephen), to fully invest their time and soul to save her.
The other characters that would intervene in the story would have been the members of the Gaming Club and the President of the Student Council.

During the final battle of the first arc, where everything goes to shit and Stephen has to choose between, restoring everything back to normal, but continuing with all his recent mistakes, or reset everything and receive something else.
And by the end of the of the first arc I wanted to introduce the routes endings, where I would explore more on Stephen's morality and also his relationship with Libitina. Yeah... it was supposed some weird obsession she had with him, hinting that they knew each other for some time ---> PLOT TWIST! they were stuck inside the void, playing different routes of the game, reconstructing or even altering them, in order for Stephen to achieve a perfect ending on his own.

In actuality, from time to time, Libitina brought players from the real world in order to play her "ISEKAI GAMES", but only Stephen remained that fixated on competing against her after so many failures to the point it drove him MAD and made him attractive to Libitina. And everytime he would start from the beginning, he would ask for his memories to wiped out, until he return back to the void where he would meet her again.

The story had a lot of plot holes and felt like I didn't focus on the main heroines' stories as much as I wanted, and had too many similarities to TheReader1118's story. AND SO I decide to leave it be. I really had fun developing the story, but I'd rather play or read other DDLC fanfictions from other talented fans and writers that know what to do with this story better than I could've hoped to do.
