your vision was an interesting once, however the originality of the piece is a bit lacking and easily, if not a tad time consuming, to reproduce in the dark room with layered negatives or twice exposed photographic paper and even more easily produced on Photoshop with opacity changes and the like. In terms of technique entire area of the girl's hair and face are burned out while others are in crisp detail, which isn't very distracting at first glance but is something that could easily have been done a bit more smoothly.
I do enjoy the contrast between the girl and the buildings in the background and think it a suitable backdrop to your lovely model, however, placing an object/person directly in the center of an image creates for a very simple placement; putting the focus so it's slightly off center makes an image more interesting. Think of a three by three grid overlaying your image: having so much of your focus in the center is not as interesting as something that is even slightly off center and would help establish a more 'out there' feel to the image.
The harsh lighting combined with your model's eye directed downwards as well as desolate background makes for a very lonely looking girl, and loneliness is one of those things that as human being we experience and so it is very easy to sympathize with your model which creates a bigger impact over all.
Overall, there's a lot of potential here and if you keep trying to improve your work and work a bit harder at the details you'll only continue to improve your work.

The way you drew the legs-as a continous line with out stopping gives it a really easygoing, cartoony feel. The darker lines are there when need be, and I enjoy the way you drew his crooked smile- not entirely even, making him look inocent, yet very, happily disturbed, if that makes any sense. The hair is drawn well, and I like how it's not detailed, going along with the previously stated cartoon like feel. I also like that you didn't add color. That would have runined the simple effect you put on the drawing. I give this drawing a thumb up!

Have you perhaps posted this critique on the wrong deviation? This isn't a drawing, and there's no legs or crooked smile in the picture either.

Seen is a girl looking down almost as if she were a gohst or possibly a shadow (of the past maybe?). With a a turning building in the background showing many windows, one is lead to believe that many things have happened with the passing of time. It has a cold and almost painfull atmosphere and and the girls hair is not perfectly combed almost as if there were a static were in the air. -> Another reason for the gohstly feeling.
The black and white usually has an association to the past and leads one to believe that the picture taken, was taken a while ago.
It leaves the viewer feeling as if either the girl were a part of the buildings history. Or if one were to flip coin, one could say, that we are privaliged with a glimpse into the girls (possibly painful) past.
All in all it is a moving work making one think about why it was done which is pretty much the goal of every artist: "To make the viewer look into the work of art and then reflect upon it inside of themselves.

To me, the windows compartmentalize memories, like drawers. In one window could be one memory of happiness, and the other could be another memory filled with gut-wrenching pain. Perhaps most of the windows lean toward the latter kind of memories.
It's speaks volumes to me, and, through simplicity, it is truly beautiful.
I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not, but I love how one of the windows overlaps the eye, as if it say "the eye is the window to the soul". I also love how the picture is filled with windows iea of just that one spot on the eye (as I personally don't tend to like a lot of empty spaces in pictures).

That's almost exactly my thought with this!
And yes, that was intentional actually.
Thank you!

Very somber. I'd write down my own theory of what it all means. But I'm to tired to type anymore.

I think it's the reflection through her window (not a ghost)
as she looks down at one of the windows, possibly waiting
for someone to show up there....
