use different blending option in photoshop next time, now it looks you took to photo's layer two opacity on 50% and saved it... no offense the composition is good, the idea is good, but lacking in photoshop skills. try overlay mode in photoshop on the girl ...

Actually, I used overlay. And a screen blending mode. And a composition of about 20 layers of gradients and curves.
(If I only would have put the opacity level to 50%, the white parts that sort of burn out the bricks would only have been gray-ish.)

Im thinking darkroom, using enlargers and overlaying the two photos to create one finished project. It reminds me a lot of Jerry Uelsmann's work.

white image of the girl is wats seen on the outside, dark image is wats really felt inside. her eyes is tht of a window, prolly inspired by the expression " the eyes is the window of your soul".

since the title is memoirs and the black and white represents a period before the picture that you are in, i'd say that it means to me that in each of those windows and behind each of those walls lives a memory of someone or sometime that you have lost. hence the melancholy look on the models face. a really awesome photo!
