This is really nice tutorial, but I am just confused on one thing:
How do you make the highlights overlap? That question doesn't make sense x-x
What I meant was, when you highlighting it seems like you can make one peice of hair overlapping the other just by using high and lowlights.
I have a basic knowledge of how to do it, but I can't just free hand do it.
I have to either literally break it into sections or draw red guide lines as to where they should go...
Please help?

Sorry for the late reply, just got back in town. I don't know if I totally understand your question, are you asking how do I make the basic highlight strands look like they are overlapping with no embellishments to shadow or highlight?

What I mean is, you make it look like certain peices of hair are overlapping the other, I was just wondering how you know when to overlap and when to keep it straight...?

Oh that's all kind of just luck or intuition xD I just draw a bunch of strands with no real thought besides that they all should go in the same direction...Β

Oh okay, so basically it just somes from shear skill xD well guess my hair will always look like my horses have a bunch of hairspray or something.. my horsie's in the manips must hate me for making their hair so straight and boring xD

lol, I just glanced at your manips (trying to study for 3 tests too xD), and the one thing I recommend is not making clumps for your hair, if you can get on join.me links... I can do a quick hair tutorial some time

This weekend might work, depending on the amount of homework I have to do, and my new horse might be coming in, so it'd have to be Sunday most likely
