Description
Some of my friends in the real world (yes, I have a life outside the internet), say that I'm 'crazy' because I like to read. And reading for FUN? Oh wow, I need to be put in a mental institution. I mean come on, who actually wants to read for fun? No 'normal' person should read for FUN.Template: [link]

I remember when I was in school, I ordered books and they were given to me in the middle of a history lesson. My teacher passed the books to me and said "Is this a student ordering books I see?" but as I was putting them into my bag, my friend at the time (who was sitting next to me) gave a look of disgust, I asked her what her problem was and she said that books are stupid. I then went on to tell her that the thing she's writing her school work in is a book, and the things she revises from are books also, just different types. She called me a nerd every time I went into the library and lunch and break time (I wouldn't go outside because of anxiety, which she didn't understand) I went to smack her in the face with a hardback book but was stopped. A year or so later, she was reading twilight. Let's just say that I got my revenge.

If people make fun of you for being "bookish", I can assure you, they're jealous because they suck at reading. I should know. I can't keep my eyes on a book if my life depended on it.

I agree. I definitely love "1984" and "American Psycho". I still haven't even read any Stephen King yet.Β

I just read 1984 for the first time two days ago. It was definitely unnerving and the ending scared me a lot. I enjoyed it though, it was an amazing read. ^-^
Oh, try "The Shining" I think you'll like it.

people also react to what you read. when i said I like Animal Farm more than the hunger games, most of the kids gave me a filthy look.Β Β

Oh that sucks :/ I've never actually read Animal Farm, but I'm sure it's pretty good. To be honest though, The Hunger Games isn't my favourite book I've ever read, though I did enjoy it. I didn't particularly like the second and third books though.

To be honest I'm not keen on classic novels, but Animal Farm was fine

I got quite into classic novels this year, as we had to do this thing in English where we read 6 books and wrote our response to them. So I decided I'd read some books I wouldn't normally read and I'm so glad I did! What kinds of books do you enjoy? Horror, romance, comedy?

If I read Animal Farm again now, I would be daunted by the amount of text. I just liked it being read to me by a teacher
People recommend me adult books and all I see is a wall of text. Not appealing at all

Oh I know what you mean. They can be very hard to get into as well as the writing is a little strange at first. I remember when I read Wuthering Heights for the first time. It took intense concentration haha XD
