Get out. Get to him. Spraying out desperate volleys of sound, Shade saw that there was only a single exit from the spire, the same tunnel he'd come through.

Shade's glowing because he's alive. It makes his scars harder to see, but you can see them if you zoom in. The long one on his left wing is from the pigeons, and the two small ones on his right wing are from Goth in the thunderhead. The hole in his ear is from the siren in Sunwing, and the scar on his belly is from the explosive disc.

I tried to make Shade look older without without giving him a beard, so I made his hair longer and his mane thicker. I'm not so pleased with Goth's pose, though.
