Serenity felt the vibrations of the carriage being pulled over cobblestone. The wheels clacked on stone as the window to the side started to show the small nova sapling, back where it belonged. The golden frame showed a world outside her own, far away from the soft cushions she sat on, far away from her and the silence of her cabin. Outside she saw the nice girl from magic class talking to another quill. She wished to have someone to talk to, but she would never break the rules again. Still she felt empty, she barely felt anything at all, even when her magic spiked in an attempt to feel more. But there wasn't much to feel here, in her little golden cage. She was alone here and the carriage pushed on, soon leaving the nova tree and that one familiar face behind, replacing them with unknown people and houses and streets until even that was gone. She turned her head away, sitting back and ridding herself of thoughts that would only bring harm to her.
